  1. While we are awaiting news of what Andy is going to come up with next, I just received the new Gecko 1/16th PzII c A/B/C uparmored kit. Looks pretty good in the box, and it also looks like either they are going to release the un-uparmored version someday as included in the kit is the earlier rounded glacis, complete with details, totally covered up with the added armor. Most of the other armor plates are provided separate, with the exception of the plate covering the tranny. Other than scratching that part, the rest would only take some re-work to create a Polish campaign vehicle.
  2. A beauty! That thing must be huge!
  3. Article is published! Well done! The metal finish turned out great!
  4. It is pretty cool. Sort of a narrow shadow box dio. Would be interesting to try a Caretan or sim dio in a narrow street. My only problem is I don't have enough room for my books, let alone throw dios in the mix! Heck, some of my shelves are double stacked.
  5. Wow, good work! Told you it cried out for detailing!
  6. Hmmm...Post-war T-34-85 version? Something for the Korea-era M4A3E8 to shoot at? Of course, if you go later it could be anything; Centurion, T54/55, T62, Pershing, M60, even an Abrams or Leopard or Challenger. We will have to wait and see. Hopefully, a VVSS Sherman is in the plans somewhere, but he better hurry. I Love Kit has already announced the M4A1 Mid, and the M4A1(76mm) Big Hatch.
  7. He listed several small things in another thread on the Kotare kit. I think it was one discussing what kit may be next.
  8. Thanks! I found the sovietwarplanes site - actually it was already in my favorites - but the Bulgarian site is new.
  9. That was it! Resin2Detail. That is supposed to be only good for the F model, though, and I think it was Maestor that was working on a B model, but haven't seen anything yet.
  10. Wasn't someone supposed to be working on jet exhaust system for both variants, too?
  11. Quite a bit different than what the MMP book shows!: Note: Pic posted is from MMP Yellow Series #6124, "Yak-23 The first Yakolev jet fighters" and is for discussion purposes only. Here the IP is all NMF or silver (looks painted silver to me). I am assuming the color pic is a restored museum bird, but the cockpit pic below it is supposed to be original and looks the same or similar. The side panels appear also green, fastened to silver/NMF sidewalls. The seat also appears green. The green color appears lighter than FB0 (tank green), which is pretty dark, but I haven't decided on specific colors yet. Special Hobby, in their 1/72nd Yak-23 kit call out Gunze Green H312/C312 for the seat and attachments and call out Grey H57/C73 for rest of the cockpit. I am leaning towards what the photo shows, maybe mixing silver with a bit of grey for the silver areas. I am thinking the silver color was a protective lacquer paint.
  12. That is impressive! Super glossy!
  13. I have the MMP Yellow Series book on the aircraft which has a pretty good set of walk-arounds so I think I can manage. I don't plan on doing too much extra detailing on this one (famous last words). But, if I need something I will let you know; thanks! ...And now that you mention it, does the Kagero book say much on cockpit colors? I am thinking a light grey with some elements in green-grey from what I can find.
  14. I have an abysmal record in GB's, but as it is our 25th anniversary, I got to give it a try. I couldn't find any photo references for a 25-marked aircraft, but Romania had several and I found photos of Red 23 and Red 28, so I have to believe there was a Red 25!
  15. Nice! I have one in the stash, too. Will be watching to see how it is done...
  16. Great job! I can't get over you scratching the wire wheels! Exceptional!
  17. Wow! That is amazing and you have just started! Makes rigging WWI biplanes look simple!
  18. Article is posted! Love the paint scheme!
