  1. Thanks very much for replying. The kit offering is a 1978 aircraft, however my memories are from 1987/1988 where they flew in/out of Alconbury. So I'm torn to use the kit seat and as is in 1978 or perhaps the same aircraft with the later seat (if it was still at Alconbury then).
  2. I'm just starting the Revell 1/32 F-5e and I intend to build it as an Alconbury cab as per the kit decals. However my pre-build research shows that the seat (especially the head box) just looks wrong. Now I've never built one before, so if there is a correction how to build could you please give me a link. Equally are you aware the kit sear is wrong. Any help is appreciated please.
  3. I used them for my F-4J build and purchased the drogue chute. It was a great quality bit of 3D printing, very well packag3d for going around the globe and arrived in good time. Go for it.
  4. It's either a mistake or skullduggery. If they get difficult about it, it's probably safe to assume it's skullduggery. If they're embarrassed then it's an error. But you have to ask, just to show that you noticed it.
  5. What a gentleman of the hobby. I've purchased from you and was very lucky to get a F3 conversion giveaway. It's the right thing to do as life's too short. However please return the moment you can. Steve.
  6. Now that's an example of perseverance. Don't think we'll see as many detailed as that.
  7. Luckily from my first employment after college, I had access to Swann Morton range and subsequent jobs after that until last year when we all were made redundant. I've only got a couple of blades left and a new experience for me - BUYING THEM!
  8. I know it sounds silly but I buy the manufacturers handle and not a copy/general one. Life's just simpler and you don't want any movement at all
  9. As above I don't do 1/48, but I suspect this will be very appealing indeed.
  10. Windsor and Newton Matt. Sprayed or brushed great stuff. As mentioned above though as it gets old it can get "funny". Now I don't know that duration equals old but it's a good few years. I'm such a slow builder that I rarely finish a bottle. Only costs a couple of bob also.
  11. Blimey and good reactions to self analysis. What does it feel like from the inside?. Is it something to screaming inside but no one can hear you (if that makes sense). My wife had a TIA at work some years ago and her colleagues were all over it and got "blue lighted" (as we say) to Accident & Emergency. Fully recovered but I remember being at her bedside and seeing your loved one completely vacant was unforgettable. Steve.
  12. That would be fantastic. But like most would it be financially achievable for thoth purchaser and seller.
  13. I've got a few kits on display in the garage. Having had to dust them again and the canopies going dull on me, I'd rather they be in good order and put away for occasional viewing. With this forum being largely the bigger stuff I thought I'd ask the question. Where do you source storage solutions for your big kits. I've tried the usual outlets but "large" doesn't necessarily mean big.
  14. I love it. Its on my to do list although not purchased one yet. Bigger than you think though isn't it. I recall on GW2 seeing these all lined up in pens before I set off North. Very intriguing.
  15. I actually thought that was real reference photos. Bloody brilliant.
  16. I've used the covers from pilots flight suits knee pads. Not available to everyone obviously but the method I used was to cut the size and then some 400 grit paper to create the swirl effect. After that I have sprayed some Tamiya smoke for the blade blur and a very faint colour for the tips.
  17. Just seen this and it's tremendous. I've not seen your approach to the stand before and I like it. Why weld it to a base?.
  18. Having just watched the film Devotion last night on Amazon, that looks absolutely amazing.
  19. I take it the ZM offering is the gold standard?. Clearly I don't know!.
  20. Thanks Peter. I got the idea from this - 8 lines down and 1st photo. https://bpag.co.uk/gallery/ze360-in-service/
  21. Thanks mate, coming from the F4 master modeller I'll take it.
