Put it in the freezer, it will last forever  :innocent:

Each time you use it, just get it out, let it thaw for 10 minutes (depending on room temp) and it's ready, fresh as on day one.

I used to sculpt figures and found that trick to store my stash of putties (Milliput, Magic Sculp, Duro,…). Still have some in my fridge

Same goes for CA glues. Keep em in the freezer. Take em out 10m before you need them (or go get a coffee) and then put it back in the freezer.

  2. Long time ago I took a Revell Type VIIC U-boat model and modified it to a Type VII-C/41 with the extended winter garden raised deck, with the two dual 20mm guns and the single 37mm gun. I built it as a replica of the boat my dad served in as 3rd watch officer in the Med. That would be U-969. He was very pleased with it. I also built him a model of Prinz Eugen, the ship he served on as a radio operator during the "Channel Dash". He passed away in 2005, but both of them are still here.

  3. I bow to your skills sir. I started on a Wal nearly 20 years ago, using a Wilhelmshaven paper model as a pattern. They had no clue as to dimensions and cobbled together various bits of the different models into one. Got it to the point it was looking like a Wal, then ran out of steam. I've been kicked it around from shelf to shelf since then. I'm gonna toss it in the trash tomorrow. Your build is absolutely amazing. Well done.

  4. Interesting project. In foreign service and what ifs are pretty neat when you have an idea and want to pursue it. I'm about half way  finished a Trumpeter A-10, which will be in Luftwaffe markings. (World War II) I understand Rudel was given a chance to add some input into the design of the A-10, and with the Soviets lining up on the Fulda Gap,  I never could understand why the Germans didn't also get some. Be a while yet before I can get back to it though.

  5. Huh, I thought I'd put in a note asking that this be moved to Work in Progress. Ran into a problem with some paints, and wasn't  quite done, I've got the main markings on, Debating on if I am going to continue, as the checker board decals for the stabilisers and rudder literally disintegrated. I may strip most of them off as the model itself turned o out not bad, and try some other marking scheme.

  6. Progressing slowly, completely revamped the fuel tank, and radios. Originals seemed too small and too short. Extended the tank so it goes under the aft deck where the fuel  fill is located. Working on the brake lines, opening up the exhaust stacks, lifted the rudder pedals off of the floor, and suspended them on the fire wall. Tried painting the instrument panel 3x, just can't do a decent job of it so I've ordered the Quinta set for the Tamiya Mustang.

some sort of vent in the rad exhaust area, the guide bar for the vent panel and up in the left corner, the bowden cable that controls the vent opening/closing.

  7. I just picked up a started kit, major parts glued, whoever it was did a nice job. The wing part, the aft fuselage, and a few other bits. He'd started the cockpit but I cleared that off for the the Quinta Studio set which arrived yesterday, and I'll get to it as soon as I finish the P-51. Just how bad are the exhaust? Never really looked at a Phantom, never had a chance to see one on the ground. The missiles are pretty basic too.

  8. Got going on this last week. So far so good, no problems. I'm adding some detail in the form of cables in the cockpit, the radiator air intake and exhaust have details not on the model. Chopped the "Radio" off the back deck, narrowed it, and trying to get it to look like the fuel tank.

Finished one Zero, the A6M5c flown by Saburo Sakai. I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

Please excuse the abysmal photos. I have contractors ripping all the balconies off of the building, so no access to my normal photo spot out there. It's dark in here, and the lighting sucks. I'm working on a backdrop similar to those German hangers you can buy, floor and two walls. The other Zero, the  A6M3 conversion is done but for the push molded canopy. Still trying to get that done, so far with limited success. Soon as I get the backdrop done and some decent photography lights I'll put out a bunch of it, the M5c, and the Bf-109.

  9. Slowly coming along, working on the landing gear and external fuel tank. Grabbed one off the Swallow kit. Bit of a glitch, dropped the canopy center section on the floor and didn't notice til I heard the crunch. Glued the bits back together, cleaning them up and pouring some epoxy to make it all one solid mass, then I'm gonna try my first push molding.
