raphaelmd
Hey guys, Small and easy question... Is it possible to convert the Tamyia F-16 into a twin-seater bird? I looked and can not really find any information about convertion set or so on... may be it's just not possible and that's it. Great thank's Raphaël
RNoAF
There was a conversion kit for the Twoseater F-16B/D in 1/32 from Taiwan, but i havent seen it in years. It was an unknown manufacturer to me, and only available from an online webshop in Taiwan. Edited September 26, 2023 by RNoAF

mydesign
Academy had a two seater F-16 in 1/32 If you want the main kit to be Tamiya and can do some scratch building, using a two seat canopy from AFV Club will fix the main canopy issue of the conversion. see Scalemates link

Great thank's Raphaël There is currently a conversion set available on eBay for the Tamiya kit - eBay link to F-16 two seater conversion beware though. It has a pretty bad reputation and you can see from the pictures that the cockpit is very poor. You could give it a go and perhaps install the F-16I Sufa cockpit from Wolfpack or use some of the 3D decals available from Quinta Studios for example. The Academy two seater is by far the best way to go if you want a two-seater. The F-16I Sufa kit can easily be "converted" to an F-16D by leaving off parts like the spine etc. but you can also find the F-16B kit in the boxing from AFV Models. The Academy kit is perhaps not as super easy to build as the Tamiya kits but it can be built into a very very nice looking F-16 model /Niels CRAZY IVAN5
mydesign
I forgot to add that I have made several 1/32 F-16 kits. My modelling reports may help to see what can be made from the various kits. https://aircraftinplastic.com/models/F16-32/f16-32.htm Kagemusha, Mr.T and firefly7

ScottsGT
This was built using a SUFA kit. It comes with just about every imaginable F-16 part you could want in the box. firefly7, Marcel111, Dragon and 2 others
Pete Fleischmann
The Academy fuselage and canopy are narrower than the Tamiya fuselage, making the conversion a bit of a challenge if you use the Academy parts. The easiest path forward is to use the Sufa kit- Here is the current state of my Tamiya block 60F conversion And with canopy rail internals in place And vac formed canopy cheers P Edited September 26, 2023 by Pete Fleischmann Zola25, Marcel111, Kagemusha and 1 other
