machine_marty
Excuse the poor pics. Here is my Tamiya T050 Toyota Hybrid. Superb kit in every respect, highly recommended. I used Zero paints for the white and black, and Tamiya Lacquer for the red. I also used the Top Studio carbon fibre decal set for this kit. Out2gtcha
Very nice! The paint work is really well done. What is the reasoning behind the open top front wheels, some aerodynamic advantage? machine_marty
Rockie Yarwood
Absolutely amazing build and finish! Definitely one to be proud of. Cheers, Rockie machine_marty
The Madhatter
Man, I wish I could achieve such a smooth and glossy finish on my cars. Fantastic result and the photos are just fine! machine_marty

Thanks for the kind comments everyone Not sure of the reason behind the opening - could be aero, could be brake cooling..?

Thank you I used Zero paints pre thinned lacquer gloss. It’s really forgiving, easy to use but tends to need a bit of polishing to get the best out of it. First off, the model looks fantastic! The holes in the wheel arches are there to prevent high pressure air from building up inside the wheel well if/when the car goes sideways in a spin, and then causes the car to fly up off the ground. They have had problems with LMP cars literally flying off the ground like airplanes in spins. The wheel well collects high pressure air like a bucket and the top of the wheel arch also creates low pressure, further intensifying the problem. The hole prevents the high pressure air from collecting in the wheel arch.
