Nice picture

.Thank you.

However, some state that this is before the BoB and the swastika on all  109 's was already placed on the fin at the start the battle.:hmmm:

No way of telling when this picture was taken.

So,I shall go with the more plausible option and place them on the fin.Unless there is 100 % proof that the nr 7 had them fin/rudder during the BoB

That could very well be.

That's true, also they enlarged the fuselage cross from the earlier thin white lines.

In any case have fun  :)

Good to know.

Bigger crosses on the fuselage.

I don't have them in my decal pile at the moment

I asked in the "traders board".

Please have a look.

No more Eduard kits for me.

It's clear that those are for open builds with all their PE-sets.

When building it closed it takes a lot more work and plastic card to make it all fit.

Good thing I bought the cheaper WE-edition

The cowl had a 0,5 mm gab each side.

Maybe I should have gone for the old Hasegawa or even Matchbox kit for this BoB 109 E.

Hope you pick it up again.

It looks OK now.So I won't give up on it.

There's also a big gab on the underside fuselage/wing .

Just stating that, IMO, this Eduard kit is not what I expected from a brand with such a reputation.

That's great to hear Erwin, don't give up on it!

Agreed, it's not 'shake and bake' and some areas could have been simplified - but I do think the Eduard 109s really can look the part when finished...

Alas the nose of that kit is the most complicated area to assemble and the Eduard design results is some annoying seams. If you go through that step, you will see that the rest will be quite easy.

It already looks better under some primer...

Hi Erwin,

I have three of these in the cabinet, alongside a Matchbox one and you can see that the older kit is more accurate around the nose. The Matchbox kit is hard to get hold of now and the trench like panel lines haven't got any smaller over time. If you can find one be aware that the black plastic is extremely fragile to the point of having to wear eye protection from the shrapnel (ask me how I know). If you are going to build any more E's I would hunt down the Dragon kit as I think it's the most accurate of the bunch, some fit problems aside. Anyway carry on as the kit will look the part with some paint and decals.
