Okay, can the mods move this to "In Progress". Thanks.

Just to show that there is progress! I have a couple of questions though.

What are these bands on the struts, and why are they not molded in the model since it is the featured cover art?

Seen in the instructions, and in a photo for the actual aircraft (probably black not gray), and in the Windsock drawings, but noticably absent from the struts in the actual model.

Anybody.

Cheers,

Steve

Some progress on the engines.

My wife asked if the model was finished yet! I tried to explain that in each of the engine assemblies there are 43 parts including decals, and all need painting before assembly. That's more parts than in one of those Airfix bag kits I used to make as a boy!

Sealing the steps and the priming coat.

So the question is to spray or use a hairy stick? Lacquer and priming coats I have sprayed, but from WWI I have seen film of clear doped linen being brush painted with PC10 leaving space for national insignia. Most of the painting so far has been with a brush. Just wondering.

So today, the progress has mostly been slow. Having done some spraying with varying results, I have decided to paint the stripes one by one, with a brush. Yes heresy I know! I have spent some time sorting the position of the stripes due to the fact that the WNW colour profile is actually wrong when compared to the famous photo. I am nearly there.

Much pencil and erazor work still to do.
