BloorwestSiR
All the ribbing for Betty's Dream is now done. I've started working on the tail gunners position now. I'm sorting out some details for the waist gunners position and then I'll get back to those shortly. BloorwestSiR
Back on the tail gunners position, I noticed that the ammo belts needed an adjustment. As you can see in the image below, the belts rotate 90° to a near vertical and then back to a horizontal orientation. On the vertical section is a sleeve with a booster motor. To replicate this, I heated and slowly bent the plastic kit belts. This looked OK, but I decided to try using some 0.50 cal belts from Master Details. These are cast in a soft metal so it was easy to bend them to the shape needed. I then used plasticard to make the sleeves. With rod to replicate the booster motors. For the ends, I'll use the kit belts trimmed to fit and join them at the end. This is turning into a more complicated build than I even imagined. I'm glad I'm enjoying it still. I don't think I would have tried adding all this detail if it wasn't for the other B-25 builds going on at the same time.

BloorwestSiR
I finally did a bit of work on the cockpits. I started with the one for Betty's Dream. I have to say that the layout of the PE levers doesn't quite match the photos I have. Plus they're a right pain to put together. I also assembled the HGW belts for the pilot's seats. Finally, with the seats installed. Now onto finishing the console for French Kiss. Carl Trak-Tor, Shaka HI, patricksparks and 4 others
Uncarina
Beautiful work Carl! Did you have to paint over the Eduard cockpit photoetch, or did they do a good job matching the color? Cheers, tom BloorwestSiR
