BloorwestSiR
Carl, it could be more than a strain. It could be a tear. Usually only a splint and 8 weeks or so for the tendon to re knit. I'll be finding out in a couple days. Thanks again for your observations and concerns. I'm glad I brought it up as I would have just left it thinking it wasn't anything major. BloorwestSiR
I managed to spend some time tonight at the bench and made some more details to add. First up was the a small heater/defroster unit for the waist windows. For the hose/ducting, I'm using 2.0mm Dia spring from Wave. I made a core from 1mm wire and slipped the spring over it. Here's the heater with both ducts formed.. I made some backrest cushions for the jump seats, attached them to a backing plate and finally added the interphone to the sidewall. Finally I added the heater unit It's starting to get busy in there. Next up are the radios and the waist guns. Guest Peterpools
Carl Amazing detail work .. simply awesome progress. Hoping you'll be seeing the doctor today and taking care of your finger - your health is way more important then bench time and it does look serious. Sure wish we had a doctor in the house. BloorwestSiR
Thanks Gerhard and Peter! I've just got back from our local walk in clinic and have a referral to see a hand specialist in a week or so. Carl Gerhard
Guest Maxim
Thanks Gerhard and Peter! I've just got back from our local walk in clinic and have a referral to see a hand specialist in a week or so. Carl Hi Carl, if you can straighten the finger go get a finger splint from the Pharmacy until you see the hand specialist. It will at least keep the finger straight and protect the joint. BloorwestSiR
Hi Carl, if you can straighten the finger go get a finger splint from the Pharmacy until you see the hand specialist. It will at least keep the finger straight and protect the joint. Sounds like a good idea Maxim. I'll see if I can find one at the local pharmacy. Also, thanks again for letting me know what the injury was. Carl

BloorwestSiR
Carl Just take care and be extra careful with the finger until your appointment Peter Thanks Peter! Maxim's suggestion on the splint is a good idea since I'll be chasing after my boys for the next six weeks. This was Day 1 of their summer vacation. Only 45 more for me to get through/survive. BloorwestSiR
I'm getting closer to the pint where I can close up the fuselage. I started work on the upper turret. The first thing to do was replace the molded on back support with one more to scale. I then finished assembling the turret parts as well as the waist guns. The tail gunners positions are almost done as well. Then it was back to the waist section. Here I added some radio gear and an oxygen tank. There was quite a variation in the layout here so I went with a single photo that I knew for certain was a J model in wartime. Next up was the radio racks just behind the cockpit. Hopefully I'll get the final details into the waist section done in the next couple of days. Out2gtcha
Looks great! Nice and busy, especially for what will be seen once the fuse is closed. Just make sure to straighten those ribs you worked so hard on before closing her up! BloorwestSiR and CATCplSlade
