Nice start on the Spit and looking forward to following your progress. Recently, I picked up the kit (an incredible bargain - thank you Revell) and all of Barracuda's upgrade sets which look fantastic.

Keep 'em coming

Decided to give myself a bit of light relief from the cockpit so made a start on the wings by preparing the lower wing to accept the Barracuda resin intake ramp and corrected oil cooler.

The new resin part fitted perfectly as we have come to expect from Barracuda!!

Quite a bit of thinning was required almost to the point of breaking through at the lowest points of the ramp, I then found I had to trim a little away at the wing root to stop any fouling and close the upper and lower parts correctly.

So far so good, have really loved the work done by Iiaon (32sig) and Derek B on their Revell Spits which has given me much inspiration on this build.

Have a very happy Christmas everyone and thank you for your support during the year :)

Have managed to make real progress on the wings today, The Eduard exterior set was used on the wheel wells which is a very simple but very effective set to add the non existent details in this erea.

Also added the Barracuda oil cooler which is a very nice little casting which just clicks into place. Before fitting the upper wings I decided to epoxy in all the added detail just to safe a little further down the line with this build.

Before adding the upper wing I removed the moulded in sidewalls if the wheel wells as this was found to be causing fit issue's

And here is the finished assembly prior to any filling/sanding.
