Sukhoi Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Hi guys As title says...I got that kit today, I know that ther is a lot of work to be done!..Is it possible to make an accurate Fokker DVII out of that one! Let me know Sorry..1/28 scale!...here is a pic.
oletcherfred Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Sukhoi, Anything is possible. This one will be a lot of work. Just as the model was being released, we at Fotocut got a shot of it and sent it our "techie" and he said it was so inaccurate that it wouldn't be worth doing a detail set. Wrong geometry and more, I forget what-all(this was a few years ago, mind). It is a very nice kit, with its removable engine cover panel and all... a pity. I would suggest you join the wwi group(I get their digests) and ask around. Their info: Send WWI mailing list submissions to wwi@wwi-models.org To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit http://www.wwi-models.org/mailman/listinfo/wwi or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to wwi-request@wwi-models.org That group is friendly and knowledgeable. Although they mostly do smaller scales, there are a few 1/32 and larger afficianados there. Happy Modeling!
Tim Carroll Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Hi Sukhoi, There was a reasonable correction article in FSM some time back that should help you out. Following are the scans I have made of it some time ago Hope this helps Tim
Sukhoi Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 Wow... Thanks my friend...I think I got this FSM...will check for it. It is sure helpfull I will sure click and save thoses pics! Regards and thanks again!
Tim Carroll Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Glad I could help. In it I don't think he mentions fixing the prop which is oversize as well. Have a look at the CopperState Models site. http://www.amug.org/~copperst/details.html You can get a really nice wooden prop as well as some detail sets and decals. Ol' Etcher Fred does some nice spandau jackets also, used them on my Roden triplane. Cheers Tim
LSP_Mike Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Sukhoi, Copper state is the place to go, as they have the PE, wooden props, and good lozenge decals. I built one w/o all the corrections, but have a couple more. Your kit has the individual guages on the decal sheet. This is mine, not perfect, but lookin DVII- ish.

I'm not about to pay $16.00 for this issue on *bay. Thanks for your help, Kelsey
Kelsey Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) Anyone? Edited October 31 by Kelsey I changed my mind.
denders Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Well, you've dug up a 16-year-old thread that has scans of a 25-year-old magazine article that are a bit pixelated and probably couldn't be read very well 16 years ago. I can't read the dimensions either. You could be patient and perhaps someone here has that magazine and might help you out. I don't have any of the old FSMs, I may have had it but all of that was disposed of at least 10 years ago. You could also be patient and see if someone offers that magazine at a lower price too. Sorry. I find it interesting that the article appears to have been written by a gentleman who passed mid-October. Rick Griewski and Lee White 2
