A bit more progress,

First round of painting finished.

A good coat of klear for gloss finish to seal the paint and prep for decals

Will leave the klear harden overnight then hopefully start the decals

All the best

Nice Mig:coolio:

Some more progress, I don't think the phone camera captures it very well, but decals finished, a sealing coat of Klear over them. Next was a panel wash  using brown, black and brown black mixed. When this was finished I sprayed a top coat of matt varnish.

That is a really beautiful Mig-21! May I ask what Vellajo colours you used for the cammo? Were they used straight out of the bottle or mixed?

Hi Greg,

IMG_20240814_213744_956

The main camo colours I used are

Modelcolor 70.927 dark flesh

Modelcolor 70.924 Russian green

Modelair 71.101 Rlm78

I used a light coat of modelair 71.294 us forest green to vary the tone of the base green.

I'm using a harder and steenbeck infinity cr plus with 0.4mm nozzle/ needle fitted. Paints were thinned with distilled water and sprayed at roughly 12psi or 0.9 bar.

Hope this helps

Gary

As you can see I didn't do much with the engine, just basic paint and a dark wash. The ladder, engine and trolley were included in the kit.

An enjoyable build, Happy 25th anniversary to LSP:thumbsup:

All the best

Gary
