Indeed, it was almost a guess, but: I recently visited a National Trust property near Newmarket, and recall a display about how the owner at the time, Lord Fairhaven, funded a presentation Spitfire. The standard donation was £5,000, so I reasoned from that.

Yeah, me too but much better than the “Lancaster” quiz, which actually was about the Dambusters (you’d think they were the only blokes to fly the Lanc) and not the marvellous plane itself.

Well happy, 20/20, thought i might not be as good as i was on dambusters one that i got 16 on

I got 17/20, but I should have taken two more, Number built and first service year, had no Idea about Southhampton, tough!

 

But I´m happy as I regard myself as a (proud) Spitfire buff!
