  1. Wow! Great bases (the bridge and sea flashing by) and incredible paint job on the models! Alain
  2. It’s the « any version » that triggered my facetious response! Still, so many interwar design deserve to be kitted! Alain
  3. What a great looking MiG! I really like the camo and markings. The scratched paint is also well done! Alain
  4. Max, Another interesting detail present on this plan that can be verified by some photos posted here: The large radiator under the right wing has its opening parallel to the wheel well, so shows a distinct angle when viewed from below. Alain
  5. Hi Max! I have this book with these drawings. I can scan and email them to you if they may help you. Also in the book some pictures of K5054, including one side view when unpainted, taken just a bit higher up than the one posted here, the fuselage not hidden by the left wing. Alain
  6. Good assessment of the HB kit. I would add the the bump on the left side of the top cowl should blend into it softly rather than the hard angle as molded. Also the cowl louvres are completely wrong as they should trapezoidal in shape. Really nice model, well done! If you have a D-11, D-16 or Ta152 intake, you could modify the kit to make one of the few short wing, Jumo engined recon version built. Alain
  7. Yes, some progress in details, and it is really time for an update. Alain
  8. My quick observation: The front of the yellow band is the panel line and this is correct on the model. The back of the line is halfway between latches on your model, but more forward on the photo. Probably simplest to completely repaint the sides panels and just move by the correct amount the yellow on top and bottom cowls. Alain
  9. Nice cockpit! The kit panel is usable, if you find instrument decals it should look ok! In reality there is a cover over the central instruments (useless weight, no?), but this would be a pain to make and not very noticeable. The windscreen is a three part, glued together unit. Maybe just delicately scrape the raised details a bit then a touch of repolishing. Should look very similar to the photos we see. Alain
  10. Hope this helps! Two different crashed MiG-3s, plus parts of one captured by Finland, kept in a museum there. Alain
  11. Beautiful work on the flaps, and what a perfect fit! I am still impressed by the massive bomb bay, stretching along almost the whole fuselage! Alain
  12. In the Monogram Japanese Cockpit Interiors book, there is a side view of the aircraft showing a fixed, rearward extension of the spinner all the way back to the pushrods. From this I think only the cylinders will be visible from the front. Alain
  13. What a great backstory to your next build! The Ju 87 you kept saw a lot of service! None of builds I made as a kid or teen survives today, being lost to fiery crashes and firecracker explosions! The Airscale set will be a fantastic improvement to an already great kit. Alain
  14. For all of you lucky owners of a MkI Spitfire, here’s all you need to know about the daily inspection of your prized aircraft! For all the others, you may console yourself by using this great reference for your Kotare or Revell build. By the way, who can spot rivets on that beauty? Alain
  15. Excellent progress! I like the choices you made regarding perfect accuracy vs build time. Also thanks to all members for their great help with the particulars of the Revell kit and photos of the 1:1 subject! Alain
  16. Fun idea! I’d like to see the installation of the motor and electrical system. Now that I think of it, the Bf 109 E had the option of an engine, so I guess the Hurricane also has that. Alain
  17. Great job! Colorful and eye catching paint finish! Alain
  18. Looks great! You can’t tell the assembly was so problematic. Your fine tuning the parts gave an excellent result. I have one, and all those separate wing parts for no clear reason and complex assembly makes me put back starting it. Alain
  19. Great project! Nice to have a French aircraft in this GB. The Bloch 152 wasn’t the best performer, but was sturdy enough and really has an interesting look! Alain
  20. The long intake fairing on the right side has to do with an air conditioning system and this would the found on the FB 9 version. Alain
  21. Brilliant! So well integrated, it looks like the RAF had a supersonic Bucc in its inventory! Alain
  22. The Finnish sniper one made me laugh too much! Alain
