  1. There ARE intake screens in the kit, I am looking at them as I type this.
  2. Good News!!!! The screens are on photo etch sheet b. Part number 33.
  3. Pete, that looks magnificent. I can't wait to see the finished article.
  4. Great! My favourite subject for a Phantom, so I will be watching this with interest.
  5. You have got to be kidding me. That is absolutely incredible to add to the already multiple incredibleness of this build. Stop now, I have no more ways to say incredible. I will have to move on to fabulous.
  6. Horrible kits, poor fit blah blah. However, I had a blast putting these together. Hope you like.
  7. Well, I am enjoying this a lot. I am learning so much about the Mosquito just reading these posts and doing a bit of research myself. Talking of which, I have done a totally unrepresentative interweb search of images and have found photos of Mossies with visible spar caps and a lot where there is absolutely nothing to see. Possibly due to the resolution of the old photos, but I think I will be getting the sanding sticks out when I get to the wings on mine.
  8. Sorry I missed this, it would have been nice to own a Spitfire.
  9. OOOO, lovely Makes me want to get out my HK kit and get started. Or maybe I will wait for the Tamiya one to get here. Your build is excellent and I am looking forward to more!!!
  10. Hi, I have just spent an enjoyable half hour pouring over the plastic and instructions for this kit. Looks like a mosquito to my untrained eye. As mentioned previously, the cowling panels reflect a Canadian built plane. This is not an issue for me, I will model a Canadian built plane. I am sure there will be plenty of marking options in due course. For others, some filling and a re-scribe will sort the problem easily. The rivet detail on the elevators looks absolutely fantastic, I didn't notice it until I looked obliquely at the elevators. Similarly, the rib tapes on the rudder look superb. Overall, this is a very nicely moulded kit and I hope I can do it justice when I eventually start. I have a couple of small gripes that reflect my skill levels and NOT the quality of the kit. Firstly, it looks like it will be hard to build and paint without some considerable masking of undercarriage and tail wheels. Not sure if you can fit the bomb bay doors before you put the bombs in. No big deal, just extra work for someone with my average ability. Secondly, the instructions have NO information on detail painting in the cockpit. This means I will have to do some research. Oh woe is me. That will be something else to enjoy. I don't like the general presentation of the instructions, but as we men tend to use them as beer mats anyway, I am sure I will not have too many problems. Overall, this is a very nice kit and I am glad I bought it.

    Rubber tyres

Wow, your rubber tyres look pretty good in the photo.
  12. Looking through my display of built kits, I can't see one that is totally accurate. The Tamiya Spit IXc comes close. The only thing that niggles me a little bit about the HKM Mossie is the engine panels. I understand these correspond to a Canadian built plane. No worries, I will decorate the finished kit based on a Canadian plane (maybe the Spook) and be happy. OR I will ignore the panel issue and finish it how I like. How good is it to have both HKM and Tamiya releasing Mossies at the same time? Bring it on!!!
  13. My HKM Mossie arrived today! However, I am in Shanghai for two days so it will be 5am Saturday before I can fondle plastic
  14. Thanks for the review Kevin! I am thinking about buying a large Mossie, maybe the HK version, and it is good to have this review as a reference. I admit, I am tempted by the simplicity of the single piece wing and fuselage parts.
  15. Hey Ron, that looks really good. Wish I could build armour (or anything) as nice as that.
  16. Wolf, Phabulous Pfalz! I love everything about it, but especially the dirt marks where the engine cowl panel is missing and the finish on the starboard side metal engine cowl - lovely attention to detail.
  17. Threw it together? Pah, I wish I could throw that well.
  18. Kevin, Great attention to the details, this is getting better and better with every post!
  19. Yow, that's a lot of detail on a tank! Looks great, can't wait to see it painted up.
  20. That is just too good. I am going to take up knitting. Great job!
  21. Glad to see this still going. I am enjoying dropping in and seeing how you are progressing. Impressive stuff!
  22. Mark, Looking good. More please!
  23. What a build! Fantastic result and good on you for getting through it. I am never going to build one of these, I just don't have the skill or patience to handle it.
