Plasticsurgeon replied to seiran01's topic in Works in Progress
Strange that I missed this build...... I have one in my stash too, bought it in September last year on e-bay, when it was just released, for very very very cheap until it was intercepted by Dutch customs...... had to pay €23,- tax. Almost half of what I paid with postalcost.... Those @#&$%#@@*! But back to topic.....looks nice so far, can't wait to see the kit finished!!! -
Very nice!!!! Nice paintjob, love the weathering!!!

Not my favourite aircraft,P-51's.... but yes, for some strange reason I think Pacific Mustangs are better looking than those used in Europe during WW2. And this one is more than better looking....... it's AWESOME!!!!!

Revell, 1:32, Hawker Hurricane
Plasticsurgeon replied to Plasticsurgeon's topic in Ready for Inspection
Yes, of course! I would be honoured! ( if that's correct English....) Thanks for the compliment! Yes , these are the standard Revell wings. I 've cut the barrels and the bumps on the top of the wings. Because this was the re-re-release of the Mk.1 after Revell made the Mk.2c of it. ( I believe it was easier if they just added barrels for a Mk2c , a Vokes filter and two little bulges on a seperate sprue......) Thank you for you compliment! The canopy is OOB. I noticed it's thickness to late during the build so there was no time to buy aftermarket stuff..... To the rest, thank you very much for your compliments!!!! Ulrich Schütt -
Revell 1:32, Hawker Hurricane Finished this one last week. It's the re-re-re-box of the re-re-re-re-released of the old Revell Hurricane, which was first released in '67. ( I have build one too in my younger years, late ‘80's….) Considering it's age it was a nice kit. Fit was good, loads of rivets though. I wanted to build a “Phoney-war†/ Battle of France Hurricane so I bought a resin “early†propellor and resin wheels, because the kit's wheels were crap. Aftermarket decals for the roundels on the side and bottomside of the wings. Scratchbuild a gunsight and the wheelbay. Everything is sprayed or painted with Revell enamels , colours used according to the instructions. Mud on wheels, exhaust stains are Revell enamels. Gun-sooth is done with Tamiya weathering pastels. Best regards; Ulrich Schütt

I've build the prop version last year, can be found somewhere in "ready for inspection" here on LSP. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=46580&hl= About the misalignment D.Bellis mentioned above, it's true..... a tenth of a millimeter off and you're in deep.... I had to cut some of the internal structure of the gunbay to make the panels fit, I omitted all of the gunbay parts only used the end of the barrels. Some pics of my build; I had to cut the part because it was to long. And I don't know why or what caused it...... Best regards; Ulrich Schütt

Very nice job! I've built one too last year. @ Old Dog;I think because building this kit is more or less like a beautiful wife.... looks good, fun in the beginning......and after a while, it's a bloody pain in the a*** and you keep as much distance from it as you can...... ( aaah, just rambling..... )

Very nice job! Especially on that NMF! Can't look at it for more than 5 seconds though...... those colours are blinding me......

Painting national markings with masks - a little trouble...
Plasticsurgeon replied to Thomas Lund's topic in LSP Discussion
I've read this topic a couple of times but i can't seem to understand what the problem is. ( I'm Dutch) Does paint get under the mask at the edges?? If so you can try solving this by spraying a clear coat after applying the mask, so this "bleeds" underneath the mask than apply the colour you want. When you put the star and bar on you can spray another clear coat and then the blue colour. When the clear coat runs underneath the mask then al the cavities are filled and no other paint can go in there.
