I missed the original discussion, but I would think it would still have to be atmospheric travel. SciFi part could mean the old Japanese scifi like the Valkyrie aircraft, or Luft 46 paper projects or similar or even modern X-planes or concept craft. Even the Battlestar Galactica prequel had an atmosphere-bound early Viper with forward swept wings. And in Star Wars, wouldn't the Speeder qualify?
Yeh pretty much. The speeder is fine, it's 1/29 and recently reissued too.

Question about the upcoming Imagination Land GB as it relates to Sci Fi. What constitutes a LSP, specifically the “Plane” part? Atmospheric craft only? Spacecraft? Hovering vehicles, or must have aerodynamic lift surfaces (wings)? Very confused.
Don't over think it. I included sci fi in case someone was keen on building say, the Revell 1:29 X Wing that has been reissued, or the new studio scale Tie Fighter, which I think is 1/24. or even the Battlestar Galactica Viper which are in 1/32. I'm not including things like Gundams or space battleship Yamato's.
In the event anyone is unsure if a subject qualifies just make a post or send me a message and I will let you know yes or no.

Great progress mate.

I wouldn't expect anything esoteric from them, however with the 109K being released I'm predicting a FW 190D-9/11/13 in the future. It would sell well and the Hasegawa kit is becoming harder to find.

Great work mate, I will add you to the gallery.

This is the new Airfix kit straight out of the box, decals and all. It's a pretty good kit, although do pay attention to the fit of the interior, it's very tight and any misalignment here will have you sanding away at the fuselage seam lines. Weathering is pretty heavy as I read these aircraft were worked pretty hard. Colours used were Tamiya Olive Drab over Vallejo Air Neutral Grey.

was planning to participate with a 1/24 car door typhoon but the scheme i chose im not sure it flew in that period, Aifrix mentioned 1943 but im assuming it flew more than that
There is a D-Day version in the boxing; XP-R from 174 Squadron qualifies, it's also in full invasion stripes. You can tell the difference between invasion stripes and just the standard recognition stripes that most Typhoons had by the width of the black bands; recognition stripes had thinner black bands than the white, where invasion stripes were all the same width.

Very curious about how this old kit holds up when assembled and painted!
Alain
I builds into a nice model, I did one for 'In the Navy' Group Build, it's in the gallery if you want to check it out.

For those interested in Martlett's, 846 Squadron FAA conducted fighter sweeps over the invasion beaches. Also I should have included those squadrons involved over the channel on anti submarine patrols, so those of you who want to build a Hellcat Mk 1 from 800 or 804 Squadron or Avenger from 846 Squadron, go ahead.

Looking at an Airfix 1/24 Spitfire ...... I found new(ish)? Xtradecals markings for a Spit based in France post-D-Day. Probably not getting started until post-Xmas.
The dates for the battle of Normandy are June 6th to August 30th, so if it falls within those dates then it's in.

Sorry Stefan autogyros are out. As there is no power to the rotors they aren't really VTOL craft. While the Harrier does often use a short take off or ski jump, it is capable of direct vertical lift off.
