One of members of one of the forums offered me some help so I've tried laser printed decals. However, problem is still the same. Decals look perfect on white paper. On model only darkest decals looks good. Grey ones are nearly invisible. I have to think it over again 'cause I have no idea what to do. There are no aftermarket decals that I could use. I've searched through F-16, F-15, F-117 ... no success. Only F-117 decals looks partially promising. Using masks is my last option but I can make masks for largest letters only :icon_twisted:

so what paint did you end up using? Did you add any metallic into the paint?
FS36270 as a base gray (H306), FS36300 Flat light ghost gray (acrylic Italeri) and FS36118 (H305) as a dark gray. There was no addition of any metallic paint. Just a coat of Future from some distance (50 cm).

There was another try...gray decals were as light gray as they could be. Faliure again. I should print in on white decal paper but then it will be impossible to cut it so precisely to make white decal film invisible. I'll try to find decals for F-4 and F-117 as these airplanes were based in AFB where now F-22 are f.ex. Holloman.

Well, I have right paper, right settings and well-done print file. And another problem surprise surprise...My beautiful decals ale still...TOO DARK!!! I'm running out of patience. They look so right on paper...and almost invisible on model...
I thought about using 1/32 F-15E decals but...they have different color.

Hello,
I have a problem with printing decals. I have HP3545 Deskjet (ink) and Techmod Clear Decal Sheet. After printing, markings aren't even, there are visible ink blotches . I have no clue what to against it. Any ideas? -

Hello,
Time for surprises...
After I've received resin seats for Griffon, I was delighted...A LOT OF DETAILS, GREAT CASTING WOW!
Then I wanted to put it into cockpit tub imediatelly...well...just look...
Revell seat is significantly smaller than Paragon Design one...
...which leads to this...There is no chance to fit resin seat into cockpit tub...without cutting
Also, new decal set had came. Without surprises

Thankfully, I still have an opportunity to lower them easily :-)

Hello,
Yesterday, after almost a month I got back to my Raptor. Painting is almost finished. Also, I've made a side photo. Since there is a possibility to change it, I want to ask you-don't you think that it's sits too high?I've decided not to buy resin wheels nor filling panel "trenches". I've made a lot of mistakes with filling wing gaps and I really don't wanna to make another ones.

I did a 3 rd Tactical Squadron Mig-21 MF with a Raven on the tail a few years back. I thought of using it
on a F-16. The MiG was painted very similar to a US F-16 with a blue-gray bottom.
Looking forward to seeing this
Jack
There was simmilar MiG-21 for real

Hello,
After many trials, too much paints bought and more disappointments than I could count I managed to (almost) paint my Raptor Maybe it's too dark/too bright/too grey/too blue but in fact I have no idea what colors I can use to achieve better look. I'm limited to acrylic paints, I tried to mix some colors but mixes looked differently on the model than in the bottle. -
Hello,
Beside SF, "What if" is my favourite genre of modelling so I couldn't resist the urge to join this GB
Few years ago there was a tender for multirole fighter in Poland, also known as a "Tender of Century". There was three competitors: Mirage 2000, F-16C Blk. 52+ and JAS-39. F-16 won, although there were a lot of controversy around this choice. I really hoped that Gripen will win and...to be honest...I still think that it could be a better solution for Polish Air Force.
In february, this year, I bought a Revell 1/32 JAS-39 which is old model. While buying it I was sure that I can make it in only one type of markings- polish!
I bought resin seat replacement and Techmod F-16 decal set- this one:
I'll probably adapt second scheme for my Gripen...or rather Griffon
