Rick K
I wanted to post this before 4 June. Weekend full of family 5k race, 4 soccer games and equine test with my kids. Sue and I were dividing and conquering chauffeur duties. Whew! I am privileged to know a man whose brother was pilot in VT-6. kit is Monogram 1:48 TBD-1. This sat in my Dad's smoke filled HAM radio shack for over 25 years. I cleaned and restored his model after he passed away. This experience got me back to the bench in 2011. A few before pics. coogrfan, Gazzas, CANicoll and 5 others

Joe66
Beautiful job restoring the model ! Presenting a models to Veterans have always been my most satisfying builds over the years. I have been very privileged to have known a number of these men, and let me tell you, they really appreciate when someone remembers and cares enough to make a scale model of the plane they flew or worked on, or the vehicle they drove....to them it is a priceless gift. I have built and given scale models to such great men over the years, like my Dad, my uncles, "Lefty Gardner", "Tex"Johnston, Bob Hoover, and many more... I would strongly encourage everyone to take the time to build a model for a Veteran, and say "Thank you for your Service and Sacrifice" Joe
Jim Barry
Very nice story. It was an extra brave man that flew or flew in a Devastator.
Joel_W
Rick, Surely a great restoration. One that will help to keep more memories of your Dad alive every time you look at it. No model ever served a more important purpose. Joel
