LSP_Ray
Egad! Where does the time go? Had to build an enclosure around the veggie garden for the wife. Need to keep the forest rats a.k.a. deer out. They will eat everything, the buggers. Anyway, decided to replace another piece in the kit. It is a little u-shaped piece that is supposed to hold the brake lever to keep the brakes engaged. So I made a paper template and cut out some aluminum sheet. I was going to solder the parts together, but the solder I have absolutely refused to bond to the aluminum. So I ended up using that blacklight-cured plastic tool 'As Seen on TV.' Here is the result: The little silver goobers you can see on the 'weld' are actually silver Rub-n-Buff that I hadn't cleaned up yet. It actually looks like solder more than solder does! LSP_Ray
Here are most of the parts mocked up to make sure everything fits before I start painting. Time to throw some color on it! Zero77 and Whitey

LSP_Ray
Thanks for the sentiments, Maru. She just had her last chemo treatment and is coping. She is sleeping now as I type. Radiation starts July. :/ Anyhoo, I have started putting some colors down. Grip. Metal parts semi-gloss black, grip sections NATO black. Already did some chipping and scuffing to weather it. Will add some washes later. Sorry this pic is a little fuzzy; not sure why, but I didn't notice it till tonight and I am too lazy to redo it. Looks like a black and white photo! Brake handle, stop and stop adjustment screw. Handle is Tamiya rattle can NMF Silver, stop is unpainted alum sheet, screw is dark metal paint with metallic pigment highlights. Gun camera button and mount. Semi-gloss button and mount with Archer rub-on letters and simply a length of grey insulated wire. The firing button and air tubing. Tamiya NMF Silver, semi-gloss black, and Gold from a very old bottle of Testors with misc painted details. There will be some additional detail painting and washes, but getting there! Hopefully assembly this weekend. Shaka HI, Whitey, KiwiZac and 1 other

LSP_Ray
Thanks again, guys! Finally had a chance to work on it some more. I have it assembled, just need to do a little more weathering and touch up. Next is to figure out a design for a good base! Have some ideas...stay tuned! It's a little harrowing to bend the stiff metal cotter pin like that when the piece it is going through is just a piece of plastic! Will try to do a better job, though. The instructions show it bent around, too. LSP_Paul
