Phantom2
Thanks to all, many useful links there! The seat and the last small details added to the cockpit before painting…. I have the new corrected nose part from BarraCuda Cast, but I got this set just to get rid of the seams! But now when I have seen the difference, I´ll say this set Is very much needed! I started by adding the Dark Grey plastic parts to the resin nose. It took some carving and sanding to get the parts to fit, but nothing major and of course I managed to remove little too much! Looking good from the front…. The tail wheel well added. More to come soon! Phantom2
Hi All! The rear part of the cooler mounted in the nose section, some fiddling and sanding required, just as expected. A bit of sanding and adjusting of the parts and the parts fitted quite good. The grey part is a few mm wider then the nose section so I sanded that off. BAD IDEA! The grey parts are a few mm wider then the nose section as they are ment to fit the wings later on! DOH! I shuldn´t have glued the sides of the nose section to the plastic parts, the cowling have to flex a bit as the fit is tight! Can´t blame any other then me! Some small strips of plasticard to fill a few small gaps. The exhausts primed and painted with with Alclad steel More to come soon! Phantom2
Hi All! The fuselage halves painted British Interior Green (Hu.78).... I Painted the engine cooler in the same color… The rear part of the cooler painted MIG black primer that´s supposed to be the same as Alclad Microfiller (which it aint!)… MIG´s "Alclad Microfiller Primer" is a really, REALLY bad soup without any filler-effect at all, It´s very thin and cover really bad and It sells only in small 18ml bottles. MIG have managed to "kill the opposition" because this primer is totally useless (for me) and from now on I´ll use UMP Primer instead! The cockpit cage painted British Interior Green (Hu.78), no problem to get paint everywhere…. The large, and wonderful prop from Barracuda Cast during assembly, that little jig makes the assembly a breeze…. The prop Is ready for paint, this is a massive prop to harness the power in the engine. More to come soon!
