Stokey Pete
Oh hold the bus there, what’s that scheme in the background. Now that’ll fit in the Viper Pit perfectly. Zola25

Now that’ll fit in the Viper Pit perfectly. That is called "Dannebrog" - the name of the Danish flag. It is the oldest unaltered flag in the world and in 2019 it was painted this way to celebrate the flags 800th anniversary. It has been on airshow tours in Europe several times including RIAT It was decided to leave it painted like this until it would be retired as the F-35´s arrive. It even flies Quick Reaction Alert missions and regularly intercept Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea Unfortunately there are no decals in 1/32 otherwise I would already have built it. The stencils are the main issue.. /Niels scvrobeson and Derek B

DagR
Hi, Very nice model. F-16 radomes are indeed painted. The inside of a radome is typically a dirty yellow natural fibre glass colour. The outside is coated with an erosion-preventing paint called a fluor elastomer matched to FS 26270 as standard. How close the coating (rubber like) matches is open to question and it gets darker with age as it easily picks up dirt. In Europe, the further south an aircraft was based the faster the radome got dark, mainly due to pollution. Bodø-based block 15s had pretty clean radomes for longer.
