Rog,

Thanks so much for that!

Now i'm going to hunt one out and buy it, there is just something about this aircraft that does it for me!? And I don't even know what that could be, it just does.

Cheers

There was also an F2A-3 variant as appeared at the Battle of Midway. I have one in my stash, waiting to be built. Looks like it has the makings of a most adequate build.

I was emailed by a friend who saw my post about the F2A-3 kit. He pointed out that the F2A-3 kit was not a Specisl Hobby kit but was derived from the Special Hobby kits. It was put out by Czech Models through Squadron.
probably not appropriate for a yellow wing option, but would be what you want for an early war USN/ USMC version.

I built the Finnish boxing.  Fit wasn't too bad, I did some scratch work in the cockpit as the details there are fairly basic.  The landing gear is a little fragile, FYI.  The one thing I didn't like were the wheels.  I know the Buffalo had simple hubs but the kit wheels look like cheap toy wheels.  Sadly, there is no aftermarket wheels for them
