Erwin Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 (edited) Hi all, I'm starting a second build in this GB. I will build this one ,on the provided stand, "in flight". Using a small electric motor from a racing car to spin the prop. Edited November 12, 2018 by Erwin Gazzas, cib2265 and BradG 3
Alain Gadbois Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Great idea! And you won't have to detail those empty wheel wells! I have had difficulty in finding good photos of the E sand filter. Perhaps someone else here can help you! Alain Erwin 1
themongoose Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 There's nothing better than an in-flight display!!

Here's a couple , first is from the Aero Detail ... I have a photo somewhere that shows the filter openings look the same on top as they do the sides. Erwin Posted September 11, 2018 Author Posted September 11, 2018 (edited) Fitted the motor. I could have bought the Airfix motor. But why spend money if you can fix it yourself Edited January 30, 2019 by Erwin MikeMaben, BradG and Alain Gadbois 3
cib2265 Posted September 11, 2018 Posted September 11, 2018 Is the electric motor shaft just placed directly into the back of the prop spinner?

I need to drill the spinner just a little bit so it fits tightly over the shaft. That's also how it's done with the origional Airfix motor. The Airfix motor is much smaller to fit inside the engines. But,as I build all my models closed,I'm not using the engine. Too much drilling and the prop won't grip. https://www.airfix.com/us-en/airfix-electric-motor-1-24.html Edited September 12, 2018 by Erwin cib2265 1

themongoose Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 wow is this moving along fast. I won't have to anxiously await the camo pattern now!
Erwin Posted September 20, 2018 Author Posted September 20, 2018 (edited) Painting, by brush, is done.Decals placed and put on the stand. The underside is light blue with white wing tips and yellow below the engine. I placed some lead in the tail to compensate for the motor.Otherwise it would fall on it's nose.
