More of the same as the last update.. I've finished sanding the glue lines, rescribing the lost panels and adding rivets to all the panels and where the vertical ribs would be. I've decided NOT to add horizontal stringer run rivets as it'll just be too much. I don't want it to be too busy. The way ZM has designed the rear fuselage is a real pain, instead of having two halves to put together, it's 4 pieces - which creates a lot of extra work for the modeller.

You'll see the top window sanded over as that was not present on the plane I am representing.

Thanks again and keep an eye out! more exciting updates later today and tomorrow

Super work on the 219 and all those rivets ... shame on ZM for over engineering as usual. I'm taking a boatload of notes for my build down the road.

Keep 'em coming

Fantastic work here Justin. Just curious. Has the wing ever been mated to the He-219 fuselage at the Udvar- Hazy center yet? I saw her a few years back. I recall the nacelles were done and the fuselage was displayed but I didn't hear if the wings have been attached yet? I saw the wings were painted perhaps last year?

Troy, The wings have not yet been mated but you are correct about the wings being painted.

Did some more work, this time on the ventral gun bay. Two panels on the left will be opened - but, there is little to no detail inside of this area. I added some piping and a few control panels to this area with wire and evergreen. Just a simple addition to busy up the area a bit. The gun chutes will not be used on this model as they wont be seen and are of course a big pain in the rear. I've had a few "throw in the towel" moments today in around 8 hours of work on this thing but I can't stop now. The gun tray will also be a big PITA to connect to the bottom fuselage as the panels do not line up and I'll likely need to use a shim to even everything out.

The guns are not present in these photos, but they will be added. I should also say that I've added some rivets to the tray bottom.

Some paint was laid today (can't believe I finally got to paint something) I painted the gun bays the standard grey green primer that is normally used and painted the preliminary details black.

Hope you enjoy and again thanks for checking in!
