Vandy 1 VX 4
Hello folks Has any one seen the Sprues or a review of the US Coast Guard HH-65C Dolphin 1/35 from Trumpeter? Looking at pick up one of these after seeing a lot of great Helicopter builds of late here. http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp05107.htm Cheers Zero77
Dave Williams
You can see the sprees and instructions here. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10316142/10/0 Zero77
Vandy 1 VX 4
Thankyou Dave for the link. I thought I saw sprue shots some where. I hope they did some Los Angeles decals for it to. But Los Angeles will be short lived. They are trying to move the Coast Guard North to Point Mugu Naval Air Station.
Shawn M
I see these all the time in Michigan, they make a very distinct sound. Edited June 23, 2015 by Shawn M

ziggyfoos
I'm perplexed: a 1/35 (armor) scale Coastie helo. Why? Presumably because 35th is the norm for large scale helos now: AH-1W, UH-1C, AH/OH-6, CH-47, H-60, OH-58, and upcoming KH releases.
Dave Williams
I'm perplexed: a 1/35 (armor) scale Coastie helo. Why? Probably shares sprues with military helos like the AS365 and AS565. Youngtiger1

LSP_Matt
, they make a very distinct sound. All I could think of then was Clint Eastwood talking about how an AK sounds...in a line from the movie Heartbreak Ridge. There's quite an attractive young lass who flys one of the Coast Guard aircraft in the states. Matty

otis252
Anyone picked up one of these yet? If so, your thoughts? Any chance of any after market or decals? Chuck
Zero77
I think this release is quite recent, so who knows? However, AM stuff for helos is usually not very large (sadly). But this kit seems interesting. I dont know if it is accurate or not, but i think i'd give it a try, for the french Navy version. I hope they would release other variants, the chinese version, the Panther version and so on... With the appropriate versions, the scheme choice is amazing ! And for once, a mass manufacturer release a french aircraft !
Dave Williams
Trumpeter already released a SA365N with French Naval markings, but it has a civilian interior. They show a SA565 Panther as a future release. Zero77
Zero77
I keep an eye on the french Navy version for some months, but i've just looked at the sprues on the 1999.co.jp website, and yes the interior is pretty weird for a military helo. It rather looks like a VIP carrier. However, i am really not a specialist of the Dauphin versions, so it may be accurate. I'll try to check it out, and see if i go for it (there are 2 for sale at a french website at a very good price). Another weird thing is that the winch is present on the boxart whereas it doesn't seem to be in the box for the french version. At the moment, the USCG version looks more interesting.
