Vitali
This may be old news but I just found that Merit will release two versions of the Tu-2 in 32 scale, the Tu-2VS will be first and it's made by Xuntong Models. Here's the link: http://www.merit-intl.com/meritnew/index.php?dest=products&sku=XTM-B48001 Edited June 18, 2014 by Vitali
LSP_Kevin
Well, it's certainly news to me! Kev
LSP_Kevin
Just noticed that the product code is XTM-B48001, which suggests 1/48 scale to me. We'll have to wait and see! Kev
LSP_Kevin
And there's more! The 'next' item is this one: http://www.merit-intl.com/meritnew/index.php?dest=products&sku=XTM-B48002 It's explicitly labelled as 1/48 scale, and uses a sequential product number. But notice that the 'Previous' item still refer to XTM-B48001 as 1/32 scale. Interesting! Kev
LSP_Kevin
I've just contacted Merit for confirmation. Kev

Vitali
They have already released the 48 scale kit and it not to bad so I read on scale models RU. I really hope it's not a misprint but I see the numbers are in sequence which worrys me. Here's both links: The 1/32 scale kit: http://www.merit-intl.com/meritnew/index.php?dest=products&sku=XTM-B48001 The 1/48 scale kit: http://www.merit-intl.com/meritnew/index.php?dest=products&sku=XTM-B48002
LSP_K2
Why would they release two Tu-2VS kits if they weren't different scales? Either way it falls, I may have to snatch one, as well as more references. The only book I have for sure on the Tu-2, is this AJ Press volume. Tony T
Yes, this Tu-2 and a Pe-2 are two kits I never knew I wanted until recently! Very much into VVS stuff. I hope it's true and sells well. They've done three 1/48 scale versions, including bomber, torpedo and rocketeer. Fractionally smaller than a Junkers 88, with a span of 23 ins and 17 ins long in 1/32, so not an unmanageable giant. I really, really hope this is real as a 1/32 subject and not a terribly disappointing typo. Tony Edited June 18, 2014 by Tony T
wunwinglow
There are some striking beautiful aircraft in history, and I always thought this was one of them! Tim
Guest Clunkmeister
Tim, I agree. This is a beautiful design. Of course, I thought the MiG-3 was beautiful as well and got called out for it, so I might be all full of it...
Derek B
The Tupolev Tu-2 is indeed one of the finest looking Soviet twin engined aircraft that I have seen, however, I would be very happy with one of these: Derek Alburymodeler

LSP_Kevin
I've just received this rather mixed message from Merit: Hi Kevin, In reference to item XTM-B48001, it is in fact 1/32. The error has beencorrected on the site. Thank you for the heads up! Thanks AgainMike JohnstonWebmasterMerit International Make of that what you will!
