jeroenpeters
Hello Jeroen, Nice idea you got with the juwel Shackles. Cheers, Jamme Hi Jamme, Thnx. All the shackles are on. Next up is adding some more pullies and blocks to the aft ropes. The braces are primed and painted black and glued in their holes. The wooden base was somehow a bit warped. I soaked it in warm water for 10 minutes. Now it's squeezed between my kitchen sing and a very heavy old sowing machine for weigth. Hope it helps... Almost ready to put the figures in their place! jeroenpeters
Looking good buddy. The figures should really bring it to life. Thnx Kevin! And here's another thing that should bring it to life. I've noticed in the book 'photograpic diary of U-564' that there was an optional MG34 that could be mounted to the tower. You can see the use of this weapon in the movie 'Das Boot' as well in a pretty disturbing scene though... I'll scratch the gun mount. I knew I had a Verlinden resin one somewhere.... Had to lift some boxes and dust it off, but found it!

D.B. Andrus
Hi Jeroen, Excellent work, very impressive. Especially like the work on the insulators, look just like the real items. Shots from U 995 at the Naval Memorial, Laboe: You may be familiar with this U Boat site, but if not: http://models.rokket.biz/index.php They'd love to see your CT over there. Can't wait to see it finished. Best regards, D.B. Edited April 1, 2011 by D.B. Andrus

Can't wait to see it finished. Best regards, D.B. Hi there! Many many thanx for these pics. I've got a lot of reference but had no clue what color these insulators should be! I'm almost done with the rigging. Almost... I've bought the Revell 1/144 U-VIIc along with the Griffon model upgrade. I want to pose this boat next to the tower. Also looking into the ICM 1/144 IIb and noticed some great builds of this kit on Models.rokket.biz. Had the Special Navy U-IIB in my hands this weekend, but easy does it! (yeah right ) I've visited this site before, but dug a bit deeper today. It also led me to these amazing 360 panorama photo's: http://www.kolumbus.fi/mika.ajomaa/Panorama_2.html Thnx again! jeroenpeters
Wow! and you call that a "small" update?? Looking terrific Jeroen, the figures look fantastic. Obant Thnx Kevin! And Obant. Ok. So not a small update. But here's a small scale update. 1/144 to be precise. I got the Revell 1/144 U-VII with the Griffon full upgrade. Turned metal torpedo, periscopes, lots of PE. Amazing stuff. And last but not least the decals to make the U-564. Same as the conning tower! At the moment I'm opening up all the vents. Crappy job, but no punishment in the sunshine with a glass of wine!
