Forgot the Oakley bag I've had and used for travels for the last 25 odd years has worn away the bottom, so I had to borrow one...............its not pink poka-dots, but its pretty gawdy. At least I wont have trouble identifying which bag is mine at Sky Harbor!

Wish i could be there, had planned on it but having my casting tech quit to run her own business as well as having to save up for a new fangled medical procedure I have to stay here and plow my furrow.

The only thing that would make it possible again for me is if someone on the northern half of the west coast got it, which is extremely doubtful. I'd sure love to see it in Seattle some day, but they don't have the clout to get it. Otherwise, it would have to be somewhere the family wants to go too, so we can make a vacation out of it, and somewhere MUCH cooler in August.
 
The southern or eastern US in August will NEVER happen for my family.

Finished the Skyray yesterday.  Models all boxed up. Driving out Thursday morning, should arrive around 1pm.

Thanks Mike, safe travels to you guys as well.  Ill likely be working on one of my entries for Phoenix right up to the last min Im thinking, so Ill have to work packing in around that.  

As we all prepare for our travels, I wish everyone  a safe trip and I will see you in Phoenix.

There is a cool front going through Phoenix this week, it is only going to be 106 -109 degrees!!!

Portland is a nice city, in a lot of ways. The weather this time of year is great, lots of amenities, some very cool restaurants and shops, nice buildings, public transit, etc. Like most cities, it has has it's down side, too, but I would be happy to have a Nats there. Road trip to Madras, anyone? (nice aircraft collection there! - http://www.ericksoncollection.com/)

In a sea of almost unlimited Mustangs, Spitfires and FW-190’s options, its almost unimaginable that we’re about to see a Ki-45 or an Hs 129 in 1:32 scale.   Some might yawn at these offerings but to each his own.   Nothing against those torch blower kits or the 4 foot wing spanned four engine bomber types.  
 
There will be a bunch of us doing the curly shuffle waiting for the mailman to arrive!

It's a fantastic collection! It used to be housed at the Tillamook Air Museum, and they allowed unfettered access to the planes when they lived there. I have VERY close up photos of their P-38, while standing up in the gear bays and looking in the radiators. You don't get that kind of access often these days.

That would be great...Portland is nice,been there couple times.   Be super to have one in the north west in the next few years,

Ok here we go....
 
Well after adding the floor mats, blue seat belts and some other details like the magazine and bottle cap opener on top of the magazine, I think I've broken up the color pattern somewhat. I managed to sneak in a black demons head in between the seat. I had the choice of black or white but chose the subtle route. The interior color layout was a brainstorm of ideas I came up with so I really had no reference for it. Just vision. Still gotta pick out a few details like some switches and all but I've got it about where I want it. I also still have to install the accelerator and brake pedals, shifter lever and fire extinguisher to complete the base tub.

I had heard that Portland, OR was possibly bidding but not sure how true that was.

I am going this year and next year for sure. Going to see who gets the bids for 2020and 2021. Hope to go to both of those also.

I've decided to opt for attending several regional events instead, as the one day trips (KC, Indianapolis, etc.), are much more financially manageable for me.
