Erwin
Nice that the Arado 196 is in the list. Looking forward to the new Revell kit. But in what way was this plane involved during the BoB ? If I'm correct they mostly operated from battleships.
nmayhew
hi Erwin, i guess maybe one or two got involved (involuntarily i'm sure) with RAF fighters over the Channel or more likely somewhere in North Sea, so that way they would qualify... as to dates, i believe the "official" dates are actually different from those posted above from the RAF BoB site: " the Battle fought over Britain between the 10th July and 31st October 1940" it looks a very useful reference site N

If I'm correct they mostly operated from battleships. From what I can gather they were used on convoy, air-sea rescue and reconnaissance missions. Several Spitfire pilots put in claims for shooting down Ar 196's.

Gene
Did not the Bristol Beaufighter (also available in 1:32) participate significantly in the Battle of Britain? Am I miss reading the list or is it not there?
LSP_Ron
Did not the Bristol Beaufighter (also available in 1:32) participate significantly in the Battle of Britain? Am I miss reading the list or is it not there? Participant yes, significant participant? I am not sure. I doubt it as it went operational in Aug 1940
