jmel
Anyone know of a source for belts for modern jets? I'm looking to dress up the gun in a 32nd F-4E and coming up empty in my search. Thanks! Jake Vandy 1 VX 4 and Luca
BloorwestSiR
The CMK armament set for the Tamiya F-16CJ has one but it's only 16mm long. Otherwise, the only other one I can think of is in 1/35scale for the Academy M163. Carl Luca
Vandy 1 VX 4
Didn't some one also do a 20mm ammo belt for the MH-60 Blackhawks? or was it 30MM one. In 1/35 it is close to 20MM in 1/
Luca
hi Vandy, is this the set you were speaking of (verlinden 1:35 ammo belts .30 cal & .50 cal #60)? unfortunately I've found only this pic and not the reference number I've also found this one: https://www.bnamodelworld.com/military-vehicles-tanks-ammo-weapon-aber-ab-35a047?zenid=3e680b145a87c1d4df3b5ca00d1d9b1e Edited January 14, 2018 by Luca

chuck540z3
Anyone know of a source for belts for modern jets? I'm looking to dress up the gun in a 32nd F-4E and coming up empty in my search. Thanks! Jake Hi Jake, I'm not sure if this is helpful, but Eduard makes a PE set that you can use to dress up the Tamiya kit parts. Rather than assemble the PE as instructed, I just glued the magazine bits onto the kit parts as shown here. Rick Griewski
IIRC, MDC makes stills of German 30mm and maybe 20mm cannon shells on belts. Rick

ssculptor
I just opened eBay and typed this in the search window: ammo belts 1/32 1/35 Lots of goodies appeared, up to 75mm ammo. Yummy.
Tony T
I just opened eBay and typed this in the search window: ammo belts 1/32 1/35 Lots of goodies appeared, up to 75mm ammo. Yummy... The F-4E M61A-1 rotary cannon used a linkless feed, but it would be a nightmare sanding and painting individual 1/32 20mm rounds to stuff into the Eduard feed chutes. Chuck's approach looks the more doable, simulating empty. I don't know how the rotary cannon's drum was reloaded (presumably not using an automated feeder like the A-10's ALS) but it would make for an interesting diorama. jmel
Thanks guys. I tried searching and came up empty, but I didn't search eBay. I appreciate it! Jake
Tony T
I realise I have spare MiG-21 23mm ammo which may be what you need, as per this sprue... https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/tru/images/tru_mig-21mf_parts07.jpg The real things IIRC were 23mm x 115mm long, so are very close.
