Azgaron
Thank you Dugy and Mike! It's a nice kit and if I get my hands on another one, I might give the Gabreski ride a shot! Right now I'm waiting for X-22 and a few other colours I ordered to arrive. Håkan DugyB

Azgaron
Thank you Boris! So where do you hide something black? On black obviously! I noticed that the black area on the nose looked a bit strange. After closer examination, I realized it was the missing piece. I soaked it in MIcroset and after a while I could move it in place. There's a tiny bit missing, but I'll sort that with a little black later. Azgaron
I gave everything a clear cote, then let that dry overnight. Then I assembled landing gears, covers and pylons. Laying the plane to rest overnight. The bombs was attached. I removed the closed canopy, thouched up the colours, and then put the pilot in place and glued the front window. Most everything else was also glued in place. Then the plane was turned upside down and the drop tank glued in place. Except for some weathering, there's only on thing left to glue in place. The wing tip lights. I had to check what colours they should have (since I forget it everytime ). What I could find was that the left is red and the right green. Azgaron
Time for some weathering! I first gave the plane a cote with Flory's grime wash. Then I viped off quite a good part of it. Then it was time for some oil colour, in this case black, to create some streaks. Weathering is what I think is hardest to make look good. I've taken inspiration from pics and some of the builders here. I'll do some chipping on the propeller and the painted surfaces, and I realized that the drop tank need some weathering too. Anything I "should" add or change? Other colours perhaps? Otherwise I'm quite happy with were it is at now! DugyB
Your P-47 looks the part to me, one very great looking beast, well done. I’ve only just recently started to weather my models on the heavier side, it adds realism I think, for me it’s my lack of experience holding me back.
