The Madhatter
Just came across this whilst browsing the Metro Hobbies site: https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/meng-mms-014-dune-harkonnen-ornithopter-1 as well as: https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/meng-mms-011-dune-atreides-ornithopter I didn't know that Meng were even thinking about making this let alone actually producing one until now Its a cool design, so I think I may just get myself one There is also the harvester: https://www.metrohobbies.com.au/products/meng-mms-013-dune-spice-harvester The Harvester is not as interesting to me personally, so I think I'll skip it but its still cool to know these subjects are getting released in plastic as opposed to 3D printing one BiggTim, LSP_Ray, MikeC and 6 others 7
Dave Williams
I’ve seen those, but am disappointed they are so small. Was hoping for bigger ones. Uncarina and BiggTim
Uncarina
These look really impressive, and I enjoy assembling Meng kits. The Ornithopters in 1/35th would be even more impressive. Cheers, Tom BiggTim
The Madhatter
Yeah I agree about the size, its too small but in turn, this means they should be quite cheap, therefore allowing the purchase of multiple items, of which some you can paint in any scheme you like. Make one a gunship with external wings and rocket launchers, etc. You could even paint one in search and rescue colours, or CoastGuard. The list is endless Uncarina, Alex and BiggTim 2
Dave Williams
Something this size would be nice. Uncarina, The Madhatter, Model_Monkey and 4 others
BiggTim
Has anyone produced any good 3D models of these yet? I'd love to print one at a larger scale. Uncarina and Out2gtcha

I purchased their file for the Starship Troopers warrior bug, which was intended to be printed in roughly 1/48 scale. I asked my buddy to make it as big as possible, and I ended up with something much closer to 1/24 scale, if not larger. And it's outstanding. Tons of fun to paint and put together. There's some really cool stuff on that website. - Dennis S. Mount Juliet, TN USA Out2gtcha, BiggTim and Uncarina

Mount Juliet, TN USA That would cost hundreds in resin alone, and wouldn't hold it's own weight, probably! A 1/64 version might be possible, but it would still be 3 feet wide. By comparison, a 1/32 B-29 would only be 4.5 feet wide.... Edited October 26, 2023 by BiggTim Out2gtcha
Out2gtcha
The OOB 1/64 FDM version is still 22" long.
