Out2gtcha
I was doing some research on my new WIP and came across this. This to me is SO cool, to see that many full scale DR.1s in flight, and from the same Jasta (11) with the Baron and his scarf to boot. The landing sequence starting around 3:50 is really quite something. Knowing how badly these things can turn on a pilot during landing/take-off, these reproduction pilots really know their stuff. Enjoy! Kagemusha, Alain Gadbois, Landrotten Highlander and 4 others 4
denders
Nice! I note that they all appear to have a tail wheel and not a skid. I also imagine they're all running a radial engine instead of a rotary engine, less torque I imagine.

I've seen a ton of images of WWII Navy fighters doing a torque roll, right into the sea.
Out2gtcha
Probably radials as they have an actual throttle, and are much easier to fly Im sure. Here is a German Tripe with an actual Oberursel II repro. Having that "on\off" type throttle would have been a pain to fly: MikeMaben, Alain Gadbois, Landrotten Highlander and 1 other 2

Thomas Lund
Saw one at an Airshow a couple of years ago - think it was Mr Mikael Carlson as seen above - and I was VERY impressed how agile that little thing was... as it can be seen in the video Out2gtcha

I just figured for the aircraft type the amount of torque would be less because only the propeller is spinning instead of the whole engine mass. Brian, that is another nice video of a Tripe. At the very end when he's shutting down you can see the whole engine spinning. Cool! LSP_K2
Out2gtcha
Listening to him taxi and come in to land, it always sounds like they are about to crash with the engine seemingly shutting on and off.
mozart
What fun! They certainly looked like quite a handful to fly so their formation keeping was excellent and their landings very impressive. Thanks for that Brian. Out2gtcha
