dashotgun
saw this reviewed on florey and ordered it off of amazon tried it on a canopy slightly stiffer then tamiya but works great https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MDYLNB7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 one of many brands
easixpedro
I posted about this a few weeks ago in my F6F in-flight build. Washi Tape is Japanese masking tape. It's made with Rice Paper vice wood pulp like the US and elsewhere. Tamiya tape is plain ol' Washi Tape. It's getting pretty popular in the crafting world, to the point that I've even seen it in Target's craft section. IMHO the ones with the designs tend to be a bit more brittle than the solid colors, but all behave just like the Tamiya tape... D.B. James Rademaker
Interesting. Question for the forum. Does anyone make a clear masking tape? I’d like to try that, Jim
Helmsman
I don't know whether they have Frog Tape in UK, but I found that it is very close to Tamiya tape, maybe tiny bit thicker. https://www.homedepot.com/p/FrogTape-Delicate-Surface-1-88-in-x-60-yds-Painter-s-Tape-with-PaintBlock-240966/203081283 So far it did the same things as Tamiya tape with no visible difference. I need to order more, since I’m down to my last roll. I still use Tamiya tape for clear parts, and the Washi tape for almost everything else. If you cut it into thin strips (1-2 mm wide), you can get it to bend around smallish curves very well. Ben
