logical
She's a big bird. Quite daunting when you see the size. But I'll take it bit by bit same as any other model. Paint call-outs seem to be a little off on the inside. As it's the Sally-B she's not going to historically accurate. Bit of a mix of wartime painting inside and how she is now. Made a start on her last night. Just a bit of paint work and some prep work removing ejection pin marks. I'm going to be using Kitsworld stencils and decals. Plus some Eduard seat belts. I may buy the Gun Barrels from Master later on. But she's going to be wall mounted with 2 fighter escorts. Iain and Zero77

logical
I'm hoping to. I couldn't decide whether to build this or the A-10 I've recently gotten hold of.
Iain
I'd dive in with the '17 personally (not that I'm one to talk - have both in the stash somewhere) - but the Fortress is such a great project... Iain
wunwinglow
These are just such impressive models! I know there are a few issues with them, but hey, no kit is perfect! Who would have thought 10 years ago, that we would have to make our choice of kits by what we could afford, rather than what was available!! Talk about spoiled for choice!! Keep us posted with progress...... Tim
logical
So after a few hours last night and tonight. I'm here with her. Added some Milliput around the base of the control sticks. But all OOB so far. Need to varnish and weather later on. Zero77 and Victor K2

LSP_Kevin
Very impressive start! Is the wooden floor painted, or a decal? Kev Zero77
LSP_K2
Have fun. It seems highly unlikely that I'll ever have one of thee, but I certainly enjoy seeing them built.

logical
Very impressive start! Is the wooden floor painted, or a decal? Kev It's painted on. Mixed up a base colour then dabbed Revell 84 (leather brown) and 85 (brown) on with a cocktail stick. Then used an old hardened brush to drag paint in direction of grain then used a large drybrush to soften it up. Then I went back and put some knots it with the leather brown and cocktail stick. I'm pleased with it so far. I've also made some cushions for the seats and put some kitchen paper on the sidewalls where the quilted effect is. LSP_Kevin
It's painted on. Well then, I'm even more impressed! It's probably worth noting, though, that aircraft manufacturers were unlikely to ever use knotted woods, as the knots are a point of weakness. Looks great for artistic purposes, though! logical
Bit more done tonight. Why do I buy fabric seatbelts thinking yeah they'll be great. Then spend 3 hours swearing and loosing parts. Then when ive finished saying yes they look good but I'm never doing them again.... Every WWII plane i buy ends up with fabric belts. I never learn. Everything is clean and shiny looking as it's waiting for the gloss to harden before weathering... Oh and some artistic licence on the side panels. Used tissue paper and beige paint.
