Hasegawa FW 190A-8 Update 7/19/15

Yep...true...true, as ive done a few wurgers, you got a pint, but hey....small feeling "they are there" ;)..

Sorry, Mal, I misunderstood. The pedals are installed now that the cockpit is in the fuselage. It's just they got in the way of making an acceptable photograph.

One question though...how is the overall fit with this aftermarket in Hasegawa in your Point of way....

It seemed to fit OK, but, as with all aftermarket there is some work to be done. The fuselage walls needed very little thinning, which is quite a difference from another AM company we all know and love, whose brand name begins with an "A".  :innocent:

Cheers,

D.B.

Small update re. the outer wing MG 151 leading edge fairings.

First opened hole on LE of wing and applied an amount of gap-filling super glue to add some meat to the plastic. When s/g cured then enlarged hole in steps to this:

Next, used a piece of aluminum tubing ground to this profile:

Subsequently, the piece of tubing was inserted into the wing opening and glued in place.  After curing the tubing was roughly sanded to shape, leading to this:

Later in the build the fairings will be cleaned up and a final finish will be laid on.  Thought some might be interested in scratching this themselves as it no more difficult than installing the resin A/M items available.

BTW, since doing this it looks like this build is going to be an A-8 or A-9.

Cheers,

D.B.

Another small update:

"Kraft Ei" and Eagle Editions standard prop and spinner.

Prop builds up and finishes well, easy to use.

Added data plates to spinner and base plate.

Weathered the paint on  backside of the prop blades a bit.

Shure looks mighty sweet

you allready may know this...but if not...

Heads up, hasegawa A7...A8 kit got fit issues (basicly the same kit istelf)

Engine cowling and wingrot...to aglin properly, so attention.. and you will do just fine...dry fit....dry fit....and drynfit to spot errors....if doing so you avoid the headache .....yes fiddly..i know but it can be done real smooth.

So keep em coming...as you shure got my attention on this thread.

DB,

Before you finish with your KraftEi, check the catched which hold the mg decking insert.

Hasegawa give you two sets of catches, one set suit pre A7, the other for all others.

You will need to fill one set of catches.

Nice work so far.

Thanks, Kais, will look into it.

Checked in Focke Wulf Jagdflugzeug, by Peter Rodeike, to clarify the latch placement:

Update!!!!!  The above information was pointed out quite well in the instructions, which, of course, I didn't bother to read.  Oh well, life proceeds apace.

Yep..

That is correct about the cowling lock...

You can check my fw190...

Also if thr kit is Fw190A7..and you do theA8.the fuel/bomb rack should move forward due ballance aircraft since the A8 had a big tank behind the seat.....c3 injection.....

im not an expert but this is far ive read and know about theese.....

Also some hatches on the right side should be there on a A8 but not on A7 if i recall...i can check in my wurger books...

But someone can fill in here....and correct this matter.

Here is my convertion....and there is a buildlog here on LSP to....but as far as i see it you don need it at all but if checkt it out if so, did alot of research on that one as good as i could and alot of resding.
