Azgaron Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Well here's the kit I intend to build in this GB! I think I'll keep it ootb, but who knows, maybe I get hold of some nice resin stuff! Cheers, Azgaron
DaveJ Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Cool! Our first Bug! Welcome to the GB! I'll be interested in seeing how this one goes together compared to the Academy kit.
Azgaron Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks Dave! I wish I had an Academy kit to compare with! I will be interesting to see how it builds! It may take a while before I can show any progress pics as I want to finish the Spit first! Cheers, Azgaron
Loic Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Hi Azgaron, I am glad you are here too Cheers Loic
big matt Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Azgaron, Sweet, Hornets are cool. Look forward to seeing this one. Matt
LSP_Kevin Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Good to see you joining in on this one too Azgaron. Your Spit is coming along nicely elsewhere, so it'll be nice to see what you can do with this one. Kev
Azgaron Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks guys! Yes, they're pretty cool! I don't think it'll be as colorful though! Cheers, Azgaron
Daywalker Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Welcome Azgaron! Glad you are going to build here with us. I have been following along with your Spitfire, she looks better each day. Can't wait to see you tackle the Bug.
blackbetty Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 you could compare this build to my hornet in the members build section too bad its too far advanced to be entered in the carrier GB
Azgaron Posted September 4, 2008 Author Posted September 4, 2008 Thanks Frank and Blackbetty! I'll do my best with this one too! BB, I'll have a check on your Hornet build! I suspect that the Academy kit is "somewhat" better! Nice to have something to compare with though! Cheers, Azgaron
blackbetty Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 is the academy kit really better? well its more complicated thats for sure. i dont really know which one measures out better, but i think i read somewhere the revell kit is a model of a prototype? but i dont thínk that is what really counts. i have just started a revell F-16, a kit most modellers wont even touch, now that the tamiya offering, that arguably seems to be the best jet kit in 32nd scale, is availible. for me the fun counts and making a not so good revell kit into something i like is much more challanging than camparing my mediochre work to all the perfect tamiya builds
Texas Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Hi Looking forward to seeing you build this kit. Texas
check 6 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Hi Azgaron, good luck with the Hornet I know you 'll do a super job can't wait to see some progress pics Ed
mgbooyv8 Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Hi Azgaron, I Haven't seen that one for a long time. Love to see it build. I'll gonna follow your progress! Cheers, Peter
Azgaron Posted September 5, 2008 Author Posted September 5, 2008 Thanks Texas! Blackbetty, No, perhaps not, if nothing else it's more expensive! The instructions give any clues, but on the box the prototype is mentioned! I actually got both the F-16C and F-16XL kits from Revell! I think they are pretty nice! I also think it's fun to make them look alright! Cheers, Azgaron
