AircraftInPixels
These are completely refactored ("new tool" if you will) and, instead of just offering a replacement crankcase & cylinders, the entire engine will be offered including extensive internal parts -- crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons and camshaft to name some. 1/32 scale version: The valve springs are actually springs! Short block tear down: The 1/16 iteration is derived from the 1/32 scale, but will diverge with further refinements. Here are some of the 1/16 preproduction bits next to their counterparts from Model Airways... Stay tuned! Bill M.
These are going to be great. Great to see these beautiful engines being offered in 1/32 and 1/16 scale! Would be great to see you do some other parts for the Model Airways 1/16 kits. For the Curtiss JN-4D Jenny, I would love to see some items such as a new Curtiss OX-5 engine, new exhausts, engine panels and cowls (with louvres where appropriate), turnbuckles, etc. All would be welcome improvements. Thanks Bill. I can't promise anything, but I will certainly keep your suggestions in mind. I'm kind of an expert on the Mercedes D.III / D.IIIa, having gathered research material on them for many years now, and having done this whole process twice now (once for the original tool 1/32 crankcase and cylinders, plus modeling the entire engine for my virtual Albatros game...) OTOH I can't claim any expertise on the OX-5 or the Jenny for that matter... BiggTim and Uncarina
csavaglio
Oh man, how cool. It'd be hard to decide how to display it... Buttoned up in the model airways kit, or next to it disassembled... I'll need at least one in each scale. C AircraftInPixels

scvrobeson
Always enjoy watching your progress Bo. You're an artist in resin, I'll have to grab these engines, even if it's just for display in 1/16 Matt AircraftInPixels
Youngtiger1
Can the engine be made into large scale? I’d love to have this in larger scale so it can be about the length of 1/25 car. Make for a great display piece by itself. AircraftInPixels

As big as 1/8 might be possible with my equipment, so I guess about 180mm / 7" long... it would be expensive though. A lot of material and especially machine time. I get requests for 1/4 & 1/5 from time to time (flying scale) -- maybe possible using FDM for the really large parts (crankcase, cylinders, etc) and embellished with resin details... europapete
WOW! Getting one or two of these in 32 for certain. A pair of Albatri, the Aviattic hanger, workshop stuff. Yep, I'm in. AircraftInPixels
docdodj01
those are nice! I already bought the strut smasher for fokker planes. I hope you release one that can be used for other aircraft.

A general strut creator I guess, similar to the OOP albion alloys cutter and strutter tool would be really nice. AircraftInPixels
docdodj01
Also, have you considered making or design parts to convert the WNW Albatros BII to an Albatros CI? It "might" be doable. AircraftInPixels
