Damn, that looks real. Only the thumbprint gives it away.

I think I'll join in with my dust-covered A-9A build..... Should I start a new thread, or is moving the original build thread preferable? Thanks. PS- the original thread had now-dead Photobucket links, if that makes a difference.

Wonderful kit, beautifully engineered. When I built mine, I was worried about how to put the double-kink in the wing leading edges, but the way the kit is made, it's all worked out for you. Frank Brown really, really knew what he was doing.

Thanks, but I'll never know that kind of luck. I was being silly by insinuating I had that kind of disposable income. -
A-4 Skyhawk for sale (1:1 scale)
Lee White replied to daveculp's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Damn. I'd buy it, but I have the funds earmarked for a piƩd-a-terre in London. -
That's what I hope my Crusader looks like when done, except mine will have a sharkmouth.

Ott light makes similar products, if that makes it easier to acquire. -
Airfix' next large scale model?

Slightly OT, are we ever going to see the finished BUFF build on your channel, Nige? 34 installments, and........ -

LSP'er, not "Lapeer".

That thread was by the late LAPEER Ruzlkampf. Check his phantom build for info. I used the technique, it works.

Well, you need to thin the wing, for starters. For most folks that's a deal breaker.

I would say the same, but you can't actually see my bench.

Is it possible? (To build a 109F from a G kit)
Lee White replied to Aviacom's topic in LSP Discussion
Yes, you must have peering over my back fence when I did that. Really, what I'm saying is that we have become so hung up on minutiae, that the fun seems to have been sucked out of the hobby. To each his own, but just make sure it's worth it. I have posted before about a guy who abandoned his model after a show in which he didn't win a damn thing. I don't think he was enjoying the hobby. -

Ah. I long for the good old days, when the Revell G could be made into an F simply by deleting the cowl blisters. Good times. -
Infinity Models de Havilland DH.100 Vampire - first test shots
Lee White replied to Jan_G's topic in LSP Discussion
Yes, you should. Ignore those who would dissuade you. Just start with an easy(ish) kit, like a Dynavector Wyvern, and not something that says 'Combat' or 'Airmodel' on it. -

Indeed. Next we'll be wondering who shot J.R. -

Just as a relevant, possible template for how this might play out, let's recall the original Trumpeter Su-27 kit, with its botched nose and intakes. Zactoman made accurate resin replacements, and as I understand it, Trumpeter reworked the kit so the new parts were EXACTLY like Z-man's revised parts. Just sayin'. -

I think 15% is the threshold for changes to be considered 'Transformative'. -

All this talk of how the molds and the IP are separate entities is nuts. How do separate abandoned physical property from the IP? You can't. So, if one aspect is abandoned, it's ALL abandoned in my book. PJ should have just paid the bill, instead of ignoring them. -
That's OK. I found it, the artist is Julien Lepelletier.

Border Model's Statement Regarding Lancaster Legal Issues

Radu may very well be right, the molds may have been in an incomplete state when WnW closed down. If I, as the machine shop owner, heard about this, u would have stopped work too until everybody was on the same page. Seeing as how PJ never responded to any if the attempt to reach him and resolve this, I think it only natural that the molds were considered abandoned and flogged to Border. Maybe the mold maker could come up with a (huge) storage fee number, make PJ think twice about pursuing this. -
CRAIG!!!!!!
