  1. Not sure what all I kept after the build years ago, but I’ll take a look when I get home. You gonna scratch build the big belly?
  2. Never had the desire for those. I do remember as a kid my dad bringing us home one of the factory resin display models of the C-141. Of course me being around 6 yo at the time I promptly destroyed it. I think that’s what got me building models. I do remember my older brother collecting the factory displays.
  3. Bumping this thread back up to see if anyone knows anything about an updated release date? December, then February and then April. It’s April.
  4. Well dang it! Looks like you might be sending me another package here soon! I’ve been fence sitting on something like this for a while.
  5. Yes, cancer sucks. Very much. My wife was diagnosed with glandular breast cancer last week. We’re going through all the appointment visits with her surgeon, plastics, 2nd opinions on plastics, etc. All the markers are in place, Stage 2. She’s going to be on hormone blockers for the rest of her life since this form of cancer is hormone driven. I honestly believe she’s fearing this more than the cancer. Thankfully all of our children are grown unlike the Princess that still has small children to try and get an understanding on what is going on with Mum.
  6. She’s definitely a keeper. But she loses her mind at the idea of another kit. She knows hoarding runs in the family. AM, paint and supplies are wide open though.
  7. Budget? LOL! I freely spend my wife’s money. It’s all hers. I do jump on AM for kits I have in the stash (over 200) because I’ve seen the AM industry here today, gone tomorrow. Don’t hesitate to grab the AM you think you might need. It’s almost like a commodity. Ex: I picked up all three Connie kits years ago, G Factor gear and a hand full of Fisher correction parts. I could sell one on the Fisher parts for more than all invested if I changed my mind about building them.
  8. I’ll be dead but my spirit will be attached to that one kit I always wanted to build, but put off for that special time. The only way for me to crossover will be someone having to build it! Hope someone finishes it before I become a bitter old haint.
  9. Just a humorous update after Lee sent me the parts. Yesterday I got a knock at the door. It was our postman needing a signature. A package from Germany? Hmmm. What could this be? Yep. You guessed it. Heller finally came through….7 months later.
  10. First post of thread, original poster talks about a closet with model stash. LOLOLOLOL….How about a garage full? My wife and adult kids know I have some very expensive kits in the stash. I’ve given her several phone numbers of dealers that buy collections. Told her just tell them to come get them to keep them out of the county dumpster. Not concerned about financial recovery. Could you imagine the horror of 4 or 5 Fisher kits and correction parts, dozens of Tamiya and big Trumpeter kits going into a dumpster? My youngest son (28) is getting into building custom RC rock crawlers. Getting into airbrushing and general modeling. Never know, he may want the stash one day. I’m just hoping I can find a home for my built models one day.
  11. Wow! Fantastic. I especially love the touches of corrosion control primer touch ups. It truly is a work of art.
  12. I had him do cockpit/canopy names for a custom F-16 I built. No problems at all. I now need to contact him about decals for my uncles P-61 he flew in Europe. I think all I really need is the plane numbers in red and the nose art on the one side. Rest of the kit decals will work.
  13. Not sure who that was, but we have very similar interests.
  14. Lee, you are the man! The sprue arrived in great shape. I will add, I panicked a second. When I pulled it out the canopy was not on the sprue and didn’t see it down in the bottom of the bag.
  15. Before retirement I worked at a University. Behind my desk and on top of a 5’ high bookshelf I had a few models on display. One was a 1/48 Tamiya Lancaster I had just finished. Yea, they were collecting dust. Came in one morning and noticed the dust was all gone. As we’re a few minor details like the aileron counterbalances. The housekeeping lady thought she was doing me a favor by wiping them down. I had to add a sign on the shelf “DO NOT DUST MODELS. You broke them last time you tried to help me”. Sadly, I need to find a new home for it because I now have the HKM Lancaster to build.
  16. This makes me sad. I have a Trumpeter Avenger that I’m going to build as the guppy with the radar on the belly and an enclosed rear cockpit and I’m not going to use the turret. That being said, I have a 1/72 Concorde kit missing the canopy. Heller now sells it and twice I have written them asking about buying a replacement. I actually got a email response once, but that was all I got. Thinking of just tossing it now.
  17. Naa, tell her. She might realize there is a touch of common sense up in that noggin. I tell my wife about the big expensive kits all the time. No way I’d spend that kind of money even though we could easily afford it. My max is usually around $300 with AM added in. Hell, I have a hard time facing reality with kits I have that have gone up in value since I bought them. Ex: Tamiya Thunderbird. I’d never pay market value for it, but do I build it or sell it?
  18. I carried when I lived in Richland county. Yea, the same on that use to be on Live PD and now on another app by a different name. I still have something handy when I venture back over there. Now I’m out in the country on a lake. I feel naked walking to the mailbox if I’m not carrying due to coyotes and other forms of wildlife. LOL! Honestly, I’m only worried about the wildlife if they happen to be rabid or deer during the rut. Mostly they will haul ass if they see people.
  19. I built this display from old Revell kits. Like their first release that had the Block 10 smaller stabilizers. I had to use sheet styrene and laminate the tails to make them the larger later block design. As a matter of fact, our member Jack sent me three of the kits from across the pond. I used Tamiya decals, no way I could have afforded to do this with 5 Tamiya kits. Wow, I just looked in my in box. This was a build I did 10 years ago.
