  1. I believe the first group build was 2007. I don't think we have a GB topic for 25 years ago. Even our staff correspondence behind the scenes dates to 2003.
  2. That is a little confusing. That being said, about five years ago we all agreed that rockets, missiles and space craft sifi or real are not LSP's. IIRC we narrowed this down to being fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft only. It came up when addressing where to put a V2 build in the forums. I think the only exception was the space shuttle because it's a space ship but also a glider. I agree with Kev that it would be easier to just have a non-LSP GB that includes LSP's too.
  3. ME, I posted the same link several months ago. It's interesting for sure.
  4. Sorry all, I had to lock this. I know it was intended as a fun thread but it's turned into something that is no longer LSP content and polarizing, so I am locking it.... No harm done, but time to move on to LSP topics. Ron
  5. I should pull out my Iron Maiden 747 Ed Force One kit.
  6. I watched the first two episodes last night and came out of it with exactly the same thoughts... and then the planes are all fixed by the next morning. Other than that the story seems good so far.
  7. Victory is a major undertaking. I would suggest you try a true wood ship model. You have the skills for sure, maybe even more so by making a plastic kit work with wood kit methods. You would ace a wood kit, it’s not a huge leap from where you are now…….
  8. I found Edgar's notes. Click on wheel wells and undercarriage. It appears I missed a forth option, interior green for wheel wells. HTH https://jonbius4.files.wordpress.com/2023/03/8b7be-spitfire-notes-from-edgar-brooks-version-201804031428.pdf
  9. That's kind of disappointing to hear. I am starting it today but I suspected the CGI would be an issue. I don't think the industry has mastered WW2 flying CGI
  10. Edgar and I had a conversation here at LSP about 15 years ago regarding gear color. I'll see if I can find that when I get a free minute. You may also find info on some of his online documents.
  11. They are air. They operate by sqeezing the hand lever on the spade hand grip on the control column, moving the rudder peddles created differential pressure to either wheel.
  12. The way I understand it regarding colors is that it depends on the airframe and time. I've seen three variants. Everything in silver. Gear leg silver, doors and wells in underside color Everything underside color As for the line, I believe you are referring to the brake air line.
  13. You don't need a lathe to turn masts. I use an electric drill and sand paper held in my hand. It works well.
  14. Toyota is on the right path…
  15. Just the other day I was on the hwy heading back to Calgary and passed a Tesla. It was about minus 25degC. The guy was wearing a wool toque, scarf, mitts and a heavy coat. He really looked like he was having a lot of fun in his Tesla.
  16. I am not a 109 fan but I've never considered it ugly? I am a Spitty fan but can pretty much say I'll likely never build another.
  17. Not in a million years would I ever own one. Not here in Canada. It's too cold here (minus 40F last week) and distances between cities is to great. The entire UK is only 7/8th the size of just my province of Alberta.
  18. Looks great! I think I own some of the the paint on that? LOL
  19. It's better here, not often do we see the same temp in F and C, minus 40 at night the past few nights. Minus 22F tonight.
  20. I haven't had a chance to box mine up, sorry Ed... It's been busy with year end and also minus 40 Deg F here at nights. Very very cold.
  21. I have no idea, Like Kev, I started around 5 years old. I would guess on the order of 100's and that doesn't include R/C planes or wooden ships.
