Either of those would get my money.

I would very much like to have a showcase full of every mark Messerschmitt made. And for that matter; every Fw190, and Spitfire and Mustang and...

With so many famous Bf109F aircraft and pilots in every operational theater to model I am surprised that the Frederick has not recieved more interest from the model manufacturers.

About those Cyber hobby Bf109E wheel wells
John Stambaugh replied to John Stambaugh's topic in LSP Discussion
That's the way to do it. -
For those of us who have found the Dragon styrene wheel well inserts hardened in a less than ideal shape there is an available replacement to be had. Aires makes replacement inserts for the inaccurate Hasagawa Bf109 F that are a perfect fit to the Cyberhobby Bf109 E kits. Item #ARS2139 You will want to remove the upper wing molded detail and use the supplied PE from Aires to cover the recess for kit part. Also; if you have kit wheel wells that have not yet hardened, I would recommend that you insert them into the wing halves and left in position so that if/when they harden then can be used as is. The Cyberhobby Bf109E is in my opinion the finest 1/32 "109" E model available and I look forward to building more of them eventually. Happy modeling, John

I do hope that your fuselage halves come together nicely. I to included all the plumbing on my razorback build and wound up removing much material. If yours goes together well then I will know it was just me. Looking forward to your next posts. John -
Aftermarket door for the Airfix 1/24 Spitfire IX?
John Stambaugh replied to geedubelyer's topic in LSP Discussion
As a side note, I can confirm that the Buchon Spitfire door fits both the Airfix mk IXc and Trumpeter's mk V perfectly. -
I have always had a fondness and appreciation for Revell but I just can't understand why they have not reissued the Ju-88, He-111 or the Arado 196. I see them bringing very high prices on Ebay and the IPMS shows. Seems to me that the demand is there.

Yes I see that Armory models market several 1/24 wheels for Spitfires. But again the predominant configuration for the Mk IX is not represented. That being smooth tire on 4 slot wheel sans hubcaps. Armory offers the open 4 slot only with a block tread tire. That tire was installed late in the war for improved hard surface runways. Also of concern are the tapered rectangular axle of the Airfix struts. The Armory wheels are a "universal" set and not specifically for the Airfix kit. The Eduard set that you have for your build look fantastic and they do come with PE hubcaps. I just prefer to have the wheels uncovered and will wait for the more common type. BTW, I just placed an order with Hannets which includes the 1Man army stencil mask after seeing how great they look on your build. John

I have built both Revell Spitfire kits and I would rate them quite decent. Particularly at their modest price point.

Ever file 13 a kit or kits in progress?
John Stambaugh replied to hworth18's topic in General Discussion
I made a rule when I restarted modeling that once started; a kit would be finished. I did last spring put my 1/32 He-111H on hold and built 3 less demanding models but have recently returned to the Heinkel. Silly as it may be, but I would feel bad if ever I tossed an unfinished model. -

Thoughts about Possible Future Kotare Releases - NOT a wishlist
John Stambaugh replied to MikeC's topic in LSP Discussion
If I were to make a wishlist, which I am not; this list which is not a wishlist would be IMO an excellent wishlist.
