The line would around the oleo is exactly the same but used when the threaded line is longer , they both connect to the relief tap at the top.

19squadron got a reaction from rafju in Spitfire Mk1. Differences between Mid and Late
The Kotare is too heavy at the shank relative to the Chord.
the widest part of the curve on the trailing edge is much too high, and the long straight trailing edge from the tip to the widest part of the chord on the trailing edge [which contrasts with the much more symmetrical curve of the leading edge] is missing.
the edge of the leading edge follows the sweep of the leading edge curve and crosses the blade at the shank end before the shank end becomes round to fit into the hub, which is not represented at all on the Kotare kit part.
The kit prop is crude and has none of the quality of a real blade.

The device itself was a rotating 6 chamber magazine that fired a similar cartridge that had been carried in the flare pistol rack in the cockpit seat. Triggered via a Bowden trigger pull mounted to the port side of the cockpit. I have photos somewhere but will have to hunt for them.

The Plessy Recognition flare dispenser was a means for otherwise firing a flare from the open cockpit - notice how none of these kits including the Kotare have a flare pistol and holster despite having the flare cartridges along the front edge of the seat on MkI's? Anyway the Plessy device replaced the need for the flare pistol and seat flare rack, which was none the less retained especially on Seafires. Here are some pics in the common post 7th april 1941 location which many will be familiar with.

I completely disagree about Kotare, think whatever you like about the Fit and engineering, but te Kotare Spitfire is really badly researched by comparision to an Eduard Spitfire - the Kotare is bad as far as the big forms go, and the Kotare cockpit is a complete muddle..... An Eduard 1/48 Spitfire MkI scaled up to 1/32 would be infinitely better than the Kotare effort.

Their Spitfires are well ahead of the Kotare effort already, far more accurate in the essential form, the wing especially, and although there are issues with the Eduard they have made far far fewer mistakes with the details - the cockpit for instance which is a proper muddle in the Kotare kit, so I would very much welcome an Eduard Spitfire Mk I, although I suspect Vladimir S is talking about more versions of a Me109 in 1/32, an F, G and a K I would summise.
Lets hope for a more accurate Spitfire MkI and MkII from Eduard though!

As much as I welcome new blood in our scale, if they do come back in to 1/32 with anything even close to their old Bf109 they will likely be laughed at, and even scaling up their 1/48 stuff just won't fly in my book.
They make pretty looking kits but I think that Eduard's engineering choices in 1/48 - given they are meant to be at the forefront of the hobby - are often not great, often really poor... watching a few YouTube vids of very good modellers building some of their new kits and they are saying things along the lines of "well, the fit and engineering is nowhere near Arma Hobby, but it's still ok".
If Eduard were a new outfit, they maybe get a pass, but they've been going for years now; that they have been outstripped by a complete newbie like Arma speaks volumes.
Whether they like it or not they are going to be judged against Tamiya and now Kotare... they better get ready for some brutal honesty, but I seem to recall that they tended not to like that...

If Eduard did straightforward 1/32 kit builds to the standards of their 48 scale 109, 190 and Spitfire ranges (no opening cowls or toy-like engines like their 1/32 109E's) then a MIG 15, MIG-21 and even a F-86 Sabre in 1/32 would be surefire winners as no one does decent versions of these subjects in 1/32 other than the resin MIG 15 by HpH which is expensive and also as I understand, a very fiddly build.

Remember when Eduard debuted their first 1/48 Bf 109 G, it was a disaster...
Fuhrerious about the Bf 109
But they always seam improve with each release and many now place them at the top in both the 1/72 and 1/48 scale WW II fighters market. So yes, I think Eduard would learn from the previous 1/32 effort, which was only mediocre, and could compete with the likes of ZM or Kotare.

Interesting, I found the engineering on their Spitfire and Mustang kits great when I built them recently, and the Wildcat looks to be much the same

I think thats based on how expensive the Kotare kit is and i think thats fair. Same price i get a ZM 109 or 190 with piles more detail most of which is aftermarket resin standard.
If Eduard released a new 109G-6 as a base kit with a fleet of aftermarket tailored for it they capture both markets the clean builder and those who want great fitting engines gun bays etc.
I think they have been crazy to not try 32nd again especially with the tightening up of their research since the 48th 109G debacle meaning far less windows for criticism.

I don't think anyone will ever beat Tamiya's engineering, but Eduard isn't too far off. The surface detail wipes the floor with Tamiya though, although Arma is currently winning the surface detail war

While I'll admit to liking the many 109F variations in camo out there, I'm more of a Gustav lover. More bulges, bump's, and scoops... I just don't find the F as interesting to look at. But still... we need all of them. B's, C's and D's, too.
