Why the British don’t build computers

Why do Brits drink warm beer? Because their refridgerators are made by Lucas. British cars have oil leaks. Nope, they have an automatic chassis lubrication system. British cars are unreliable. They are as reliable as their owners make them. (no, I am not slandering, I am a Brit who happens to live in the US, and been working on MG's, Healeys, TR's etc professionally for 40+ years). -
Yes, Lee. The Tallboy and the larger 10 ton Grandslam were designed by Prof Barnes Wallace for the RAF. He also designed the dam busting "bouncing bomb" used by Guy Gibson and 617 Sqn for the Dams raid. 617 pioneered the use of these large bombs, flying the Avro Lancaster. They used the SABS bombsight and achieved the highest, high level, bombing accuracy of the Allies in the war, including the Tirpitz, Bielefeld Viaduct, an important and especially difficult bridge in Italy whose name eludes me right now, Uboat pens, and a host of other targets that the regular attacks could'nt destroy. If I remember right, only the Lancaster could carry the GrandSlam, it was too heavy ( or too big) for the B29.

For those of you with Netflix, watch "War Sailor" , a short series that is... well... worth your time, if you care about what the comman man went through and had to endure in both war and the aftermath and refinding his family. Worth the time.

Sorry to hear about your father Ernest, and my condolences. To help you in the Constitution build, look over on "Ships of Scale", and go down the the build logs (plastic kits). There are a couple of Constitution threads there, but look out for "Constitution and beyond" by Dafi (Dan Fischer). Very helpful crowd and freindly, kind of like the ship version of here. Regards, Pete

nope, sorry.
