waltmert got a reaction from Grunticus in 1/32 AD-5/A-1E Skyraider, TTModelworks
My 1/32 kit has some very clear canopy parts. I am glad it comes with two sets. There are canopy frames included and it appears it will not be so difficult to assemble. I am too curious to hear from some of the expert model makers on techniques how to assemble the kit. Very light model considering the size of the beast but it has some super cool details.
i am sure Caracal will upscale the 1/72 decal to fit the kit.
Talk to TTModelworks in Houston last week and he is pedal to the metal packing and mailing kits. I got mine hand delivered and the dude is a super cool fellow!

I just met him here in Houston and he is a very nice fellow. He is super exited about the project. I know for a fact he had printer problems so the kit production was delayed. I will meet with him again this week and I will express you all's concerns to him.
Again, I have no association with TTmodelworks other than an exited customer that finally got a nice A-1E.
Are there any 1/32 scale A-1E decals out there?

I just picked up my 1/48 scale A-1E from TTModelworks here in Houston, TX.
What an awesome kit! I am not a Skyraider guru but I simply love the kit. 100% improvement over the
old Matchbox kit. And it is priced less that what it will cost to buy a Tamiya plus a Matchbox kit to make the E.
Not to mention the weeks worth of work savings.
I am not associated with TTmodelworks what so ever, in fact I just met the guy a the Houston ModelMania show and saw the kit there.
I knew I had to buy one.
Now for sure I will order the 1/32 scale kit as well.

Right on thanks guys. The vacuformed process seam pretty straight forward.
Tim that Stuka is sick! OMG the detail of the guns, WOW!!!!
My biggest concern is the Master. I have a set of clear windshield I want to copy.
Would the hot clear plastic damage the master?
Do I have to make a wood master of the windshields?

waltmert got a reaction from BiggTim in Vacuforming
Fellows,
Any of you guys has experience vacuforming parts?
I sure could use some hints and tips. I got and incredibly good deal on a brand new Micromark Vacuform machine and I would like to
make some canopy/windshield copies.
Please PM me if you do!

Walter

waltmert reacted to 1to1scale in Kinetic F-86F 40 ext wing, can I covert to Korean War Sabre?
I found a great deal on on a Kinetic F-86F 40 NATO extended 6'3' wing, can I covert it to Korean War Sabre? I can't seem to find the short wing Sabre anywhere. I noticed in some sprue shots that showed it comes with tip extensions, if I leave them off, does that make a 30 Model?

waltmert got a reaction from Harold in Large Scale Model Rubber Tires
Right on guys, thanks!
I cleaned them up with alcohol and they are no longer sticky.
I am going to try the "Future" trick and see what happens.
There is no easy way to separate the tires from the wheel to put aluminium foil so I am sure the sticky process will start again.
I decided I am not going to super detail the model as I first thought, I am going to hang it from the ceiling
just as it is and wheels up!
Funny that even the pilot started to get sticky! He is going to have to sit on aluminium foil for sure!
Harold thanks a million for the offer to cast the tires/wheels but if I am going to bug you with a resin set, it will have to be another F4U-5N set. I really like that bird.
For now I am going to concentrate my time and efforts on the two 1/24 Harriers I have been working on for............
yeah, for ever!!!

waltmert got a reaction from Harold in Large Scale Model Rubber Tires
Gentlemen,
I have noticed that a lot of the 1/32 and larger scale models tent to come with rubber tires.
In fact, I just happen to purchase a large 1/18 F-104 model. Boy is she big and gorgeous!
But, the rubber tires are all sticky and soft. I guess they are self destroying.
Is there a process to stop the deterioration of rubber tires?
Thanks,
Walter
