  1. Thanks mate. I know, it seems very strange, because as far as I know they never had. Which makes it even more strange for a company like Hasegawa to make such a mistake. Cheers, Bill
  2. Congrats Pete! Amazing work!!! With the opportunity, did the H-60 in general, ever have tinted glass (e.g., doors, windscreen, etc)? I saw recently an old Hasegawa kit (in 1/72) with the clear parts all tinted...
  3. What more can a guy ask? A beautiful aircraft, a beautiful woman, and perhaps a bottle or red wine? Now, that's life!
  4. This is perhaps the only kit for which I am willing to pay more than $150 to buy it. As always, great job on the kit Chuck!!
  5. What a "bold" project! Any chance of uploading the plans so, we can delve into building this part of the deck? Looking forward to see more of this build!!!
  6. Looks like a promising build, and I see you have gathered some quite interesting stuff, to help further improve it. Of course, there is always room for a few more, nonetheless, I think the Hasegawa kit is a good base to start your work. A friend of mine used to tell me that the older kits tend to have more crisp details than their reruns. Looking forward for this one!
  7. Hi Ben, Thanks for your advice. You say that you wouldn't even think of applying a varnish onto any clear part. Does this has to do with the fact that these two products (varnish and Future) have a different chemical formula? Perhaps the varnish is more aggressive on clear parts, and therefore, it could damage them? Cheers, Bill
  8. Hi Ali, Do your clear resin parts need a coat of Mr.SUPER CLEAR GLOSS UV Cut to protect them from yellowing over time? Or, because they are thick (compared with others that are thinner), they don't need one? Cheers, Bill
  9. What a paint job!! Smooth finish and soft painting/edges right where it needs it!!!
  10. "I figured out a solution for the clear coat dilemma. Since this model doesn't have that many decals to begin with, I will only clear coat the panels where decals are placed." Don't you think that this will create a different shade, even after matt-clear coating the model, on those panels?
  11. Thanks Rich! I had a look at eBay and saw that the model you have is Chinese. I presume that for having it without any issues for 5 years it is a trustworthy and safe machine. As for the dimensions, I don't have right now something that is larger than that so, I guess I'll be OK. In the past I have mostly tried to copy canopies. Now, where did I hide those $150????
  12. Hi Chuck, Every time I see one of your builds I say to myself "we're in for a treat!" Keep up the good work!!! Cheers, Bill
  13. Hi Nick, Very good work mate! You would expect from KH to at least apologise for this essential detail that's missing from the kit. Anyhow, thank goodness we have scale modellers such as yourself, to show us how we can fix this short of things. Cheers, Bill
  14. Hi Rich, Excellent job so far mate. I keep looking at this vacuform machine and wondering how much it costs and from where I can get one because it gives you very good results. -Bill
  15. It must be Florida's good weather that helps you do such an amazing job!!!!
  16. Thanks Piero. I guess I need to apply some short of weathering to my model. It is the "Blue 10", the one that was presented back in 1988 at the Farnborough Airshow. The problem is that there are not a lot of photos that show this aircraft in actual service and therefore I am limited on what weathering effects I can apply or, how fast the two colours of the paint scheme have weathered. What I do know is that the Soviet colours tended to fade very fast. Anyhow, many thanks again for your help Piero. CIAO! Bill
  17. Hi Piero, You have done a very thorough and at the same time interesting work on that Mig and I was wondering if you have thought about what sort of weathering you will apply on the model. For example, did the Polish Air Force colours had the tendency to weather really fast and how well were these preserved by the maintenance crew? The reason why I'm asking you this is because I am also in the process of finishing a Mig-29 (No. 10, "Blue"), though in smaller scale (Italeri 1/72) and I was wondering what sort of weathering I should apply. Many thanks!
  18. My vote goes to Plan A, but, apart from this what are the differences (and I'm referring to exterior differences) between the VF-33 'A' (year?) and the VF-84 'A' (1981)? For example, at that time period did they both had attached to the vertical stabilizers the tail reinforcement plates? A bit of a technical question I know.
  19. I always wanted to buy the A-7E but, every time I was looking at that #@$%&! air intake I was getting mad!!! I mean come one! it's 1/32th scale!!! and they have repeated this particular error in all scales!!!
  20. And just when I was thinking that the Trumpy is better than the Tamiya F-14, reading the past 7 pages made me change my mind. If the only thing that's missing from the Tamiya kit is the better cockpit then I'm willing to spend $100 to buy one!!! Keep up the good work Mark and don't "surrender"!!!!
  21. Very nice work Rob and I really like the fact that we can see the aircraft's structure instead of the panels with a what if paint scheme. However, there are 2 things that I would like to ask. One, I have downloaded the PDF instructions sheet for the SWS Ho 229 and I noticed that the elevators like the one shown in your photo have different dimensions. Specifically the upper surfaces are shorter in width than the lower surfaces. At least this is what I have noticed in the instructions. Can you confirm this? The reason why I'm asking you this is because I have the Revell kit and I want to fix some of the details using as a guide the SWS instructions however, Revell uses the same width for the upper and lower elevators' surfaces. Secondly, there are a couple of scale modellers that have built the 1/32 Ho 229, as it was when captured (and photographed) by the US Forces back in 1945, BUT none of them mention the color they have used (I'm referring to that peculiar blue-grey we can see in the photos). Do you or anyone else know which color is this or how I can create it by perhaps combining more than 2 colors? Cheers Bill
  22. If the issue that the company is experiencing right now with the specific model is not money-related then it could be a technical one.
