I present to you my latest model, the well-known trumpeter su-25 in 1/32 with several extras, which are as follows:
EDUARD seatbelts, exterior, masks, and AIRES wheels bay, exhaust nozzle and cockpit set, RESKIT wheels, MASTER pitot tubes, QUICKBOOST air intakes, pylons, antennas, correct fan.
The decals and camo scheme are from AUTHENTIC DECALS and represent a Russian aircraft at Borysoglebsk AB in 2004.The colors of the camo scheme I used are as follows: For the light green, RC232 and for the beige, RC079 from the AK real colors series. For the mahogany and the dark green, I went to a combination of colors until I achieved by eye what I thought was the closest to the right shade. For the interior of the wheel wells I used 70% H70 and 30% H1 from gunze, interior cockpit 73046 from Akan, dielectric panels mix of H26 and H319 from GUNZE wheels green Akan 73060, landing gear GUNZE H308 and many more in various details (metallic, white, black, red etc). For gloss varnish I applied GUNZE H30 and for the Matt Dullcote finish by Modelmaster.

    Hi All

This is the 1/32 Trumpeter MiG-29C built as a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29S (9-13). It is loaded for a CAS mission inspired by a photograph I found online.

It is impossible not to feel the impact of a war in Europe, in what feels like my own backyard - and like so many on these forums I also felt the urge to show my support.
I tried to incorporate as much aftermarket stuff produced in Ukraine as I could. The Rocket Pods and Wheels are from ResKit. The paint masks are both from Foxbot and DN Models. The seat is from Quickboost and the pitot tube to replace the telegraph pole included in the kit is from Master. The exhausts are from Zacto model.
The decals are a story of their own - I screwed up the first paintjob using the Foxbot masks I already had so I had to start over  While waiting for the brand new released masking set to arrive from DN Models, Foxbot also announced a brand new set of decals for a digital camo MiG-29. I wrote Oleg from Foxbot if I could somehow get a set and he happily sent me one straight from Kyiv in the middle of an active warzone. That kinda makes this model special for me..

I painted the model entirely using paints from MRP - the second time also in the right order . Below in order from Dark to Light:

MRP-034 Tank Grey (MRP-405 seems to be too light for the MiG-29)
    MRP-403 Grey
    MRP-402 Light Grey
    MRP-246 Light Arctic Grey

The underside is painted with MRP 405 Blue Grey

    Hope you like it

I get back to modelling with the old Trumpeter’s Su-27B. This kit stayed almost 4 years on the shelf with half work done. So I decided to finish it as soon as posible before I ruin all that I did before. It seems so hard to pull the trigger for my new enlisted project in 2019. This old kit nicely detailed fit well together but also presents some minor mould’s errors. Luckily, the decal sheet still in good condition and I have no problem to finish her. Su-27 is a big plane, compared to thoses from US like F/A-18F, F-15E, F-14s. It’s big, so it’s Russian.

Here we go and I hope you, friends love her.

    Hi All

This is the Academy 1/32 F/A-18C from the Kinetic boxing. Its been on my bench on/off for quite some time but I have managed to finish it. There are no decals in 1/32 for this aircraft that I fell in love with so I had to make paint masks for most of them, using what I could find as templates. Some stencils I could source from various aftermarket sheets but the black/orange combination is not easy to find.
Its a really great kit and I am glad that Academy have re-released it again in the shape of the F/A-18A+ kit (it has all the parts for the C version). The lines of the legacy Hornets are just more appealing than the Super Hornet to my eyes..

It has the Aires Wheel bays and bombs are from Wolfpack. The Sidewinders are from Zacto models (it had to be the best for a Sidewinders bird )

    Hope you like it.

MiG-29 looks good in any camouflage and color. (My opinion)

The white belt on the tail 89 was painted on the exercise "Eagle Talon 97"

The model is Trumpeter 1:32, made of course straight from the box with photo-etched parts from Eduard.

    pouikpouik reacted to ARay87 in Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair - Lt Virgil G Ray - VMF-214
Below is my first attempt at building a model in over 16-17 years. This kite is that of my great-uncle, 2nd Lt Virgil G Ray. Marine pilots in the Solomons did not have assigned planes and I have pictures of Virgil in or around four different Corsairs. However, I have two pictures of Virgil posing around this plane, so I'll assume he flew it at least once. The subject is an F4U-1 Birdcage with the nose art 'Mad Duck' and the number 'White 80'. I believe these pictures to be from Sept 1943 when VMF-214 was flying out of Munda, but I am not 100% positive. Virgil flew three tours with VMF-122, 112 and 214 between May and October 1943, before disappearing on a flight on 13 Oct 1943. More information regarding Virgil can be found at https://missingmarines.com/virgil-g-ray/ or in Bruce Gamble's works on VMF-214.

In short, he was an original member of the Blacksheep Squadron, and flew on Boyington's division in Sept 1943 on multiple sorties, including a rather famous dogfight in which Boyington claimed 5 victories. In my research, Virgil was credited with at least one, possibly two, probable 'kills' in June and Sept 1943, although we all know how subjective those claims can be. I'll include some documents and original pictures in the post below. This kit was made as a birthday present for my father, also a former Naval aviator.

The kit was built out of the box with the exception of some HGW Wet Transfers and Eduard masks. Paints were mostly Tamiya, with some Model Master and Vallejo. Weathering was Tamiya panel line wash, and Winsor and Newton artists oils for filtering and blending. I also did some chipping with a XF-16. I attempted a bit of a preshading, as well as Doog's Models style 'sandwich shading' when spraying the base colors, to introduce tonal variety into the paint scheme. All in all, I think this turned out decent for my first kit since I was 15-16 years old or so. Certainly some errors you'll find if you look. Also some things I would do differently. All in all this project was a ton of fun, and I've been bitten by the modeling bug again. I've already purchased the Tamiya P-38, P-47, a Trumpeter SBD and Bf109G10 on deck. I eventually plan to do another 1/32 Birdcage that Virgil flew, in the earlier two tone scheme and some cool squadron art of VMF-122.

The Panavia Tornado is a family of twin-engine, variable-sweep wing multirole combat aircraft, jointly developed and manufactured by Italy, the United Kingdom and West Germany. There are three primary Tornado variants: the Tornado IDS (interdictor/strike) fighter-bomber, the suppression of enemy air defences Tornado ECR (electronic combat/reconnaissance) and the Tornado ADV (air defence variant) interceptor aircraft.
The Tornado was developed and built by Panavia Aircraft GmbH, a tri-national consortium consisting of British Aerospace (previously British Aircraft Corporation), MBB of West Germany, and Aeritalia of Italy. It first flew on 14 August 1974 and was introduced into service in 1979–1980. Due to its multirole design, it was able to replace several different fleets of aircraft in the adopting air forces. The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) became the only export operator of the Tornado in addition to the three original partner nations. A tri-nation training and evaluation unit operating from RAF Cottesmore, the Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment, maintained a level of international co-operation beyond the production stage.
The Tornado was operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF), Italian Air Force, and RSAF during the Gulf War of 1991, in which the Tornado conducted many low-altitude penetrating strike missions. The Tornados of various services were also used in The Bosnian War, Kosovo War, Iraq War, in Libya during the 2011 Libyan civil war, as well as smaller roles in Afghanistan, Yemen, and Syria. Including all variants, 990[2] aircraft were built.

    hi all,
here a "Kappone" (big K) built on request of a colleauge of mine, itself being the son of a pilot serving in the Aeronautica Militare Italiana, 51° stormo, in the 60ties.

strange enough, being an aircraft built by Fiat on license from North American, there is not so much references about it. so, I mantained a low profile attitude, trying to hold off my rivet counter attitude and finish it in a reasonable time to present it to the unaware final recipient.
I just added an Eduard set, very useful in the cockpit area,

and made some stencils for the italian codes

to emulate the 51-32, serial 54858, aircraft of the "pluto" group with the red tail, to wich was attached my colleauge's father.

the only thing I modified was the angle of the opened speed brakes, totally mistaken by KH.

painted with Alclad II and fitted with beautiful HGW RBF flags.

a simple wooden base with lightly painted sandpaper was made to accomodate it safely.

actually I haven't a big feeling with modern era airplanes, but build this one was relaxing and interesting, opening a new mental window toward the post WWII era in my mind.

    enjoy!

The kit is cheaper than the ZM's model with fully ordnance along (missing Napalm bombs is sad for VNAF's aircraft but ok). During the assembly, I had no real problems but rescribing the rivets and panel lines. The origin is narrow and we don't see effectively the shading technique. I also scratched the cover for extraction system with tissue paper. The kit was painted with Mr.Color and washed with oil paints.

    Hi everyone

The B-17 Flying Fortress, “Fuddy Duddy,” was used as a VIP transport in the Pacific at the end of World War II. It once carried General Dwight D. Eisenhower who later became the 34th President of the United States. In civilian life, it worked as a fire bomber and was occasionally used for motion picture filming, flying on screen in movies such as the 1962 Steve McQueen movie, “The War Lover” and the 1970 blockbuster, “Tora Tora Tora.”

Here then is my replication of the fuselage and all the internal detail of the WarBird "Fuddy Duddy" B17G which is at present stationed at The Lyon Air Museum in California.

I built it to 1:20 scale and from nose to tail the model measures out at 3 feet 8 inches! ...right from the start I had no intention of building the wings for this model as I wanted to concentrate on the internal detail of all the crew areas. The fuselage was constructed out of balsa wood and plastic and all the internal and external detail was built from plastic card ,wire, card ,aluminium sheets, paper and anything lying around that was useful!  I designed the top part of the fuselage as a cutaway so the detail can be seen.
No CAD programmes were used to build any part of this model.

This project has been a big part of my life as it took me 10 years to complete!....I hope you like the photos!
