  3. Really love Henri's props, bought just about all the props he makes just in case he retires....
  4. Great update Carl, you have about got her done! Looks great! Yep, JB kwick is my go to epoxy..... Dan
  5. Really like it Kev! I'm glad to see that you were able to get the engine without pulling your hair out!! I'm also glad to see that the 190S build is coming back out, I just read through the entire thread. What a really neat plane, you sure ran the gauntlet getting started with it! Dan
  6. Great stuff John! glad to see that you redid the gear legs, I didn't figure you would be happy with it. The detail paint work is looking beautiful!! Dan
  7. OK, bit of an update. Lets see if I can get this close to done by the end of the year! So much nicer to be working on the Dragon/CH kit, I enjoy the Revell kits but some of the earlier kits where a chore to build. And when you try to put anything close to "scale" detail in you start opening up the dreaded can of worms. Put the power plants together along with the gear and under carriage. As with all Dragon/CH kits they are right and left. I mark all my parts with the part number before removing them from the sprue just in case I get them mixed up. I still need to remove the boot from the landing gear strut. Started working on the engine cowls. On the G-4 the lower cowl needs to be opened up. You need to cut out the area between the two openings, (of course I didn't get these pictures ) but it's pretty straight forward. The piece that I cut out I just shaped it a bit and used it to cover the forward trough in the cowl as it has the same curve. When I set the scoop on I just aligned the rear panel lines on the scoop with the edge of the cowl. Some thought's about the scoop. The Vasco/Estanislau 110 C,D,E book notes that there was two sizes to the scoops. So with this E-2 kit I'm not sure which one Dragon has used, it looks like the size of the Herdon G-4. The shape may be off in the front...kind of squared? I rounded mine off a bit, may go a little more Glued on and the cowl shaping started. Made a brass flap for the outlet on the oil cooler. I just glued strip styrene to build up the cowl, worked pretty good. Need to put the four cooling scoops back into the cowl once I finish the shaping. Pretty close to the spinner at this point. Going to leave it until I get the the UC and engines in to make sure its lined up. Started working on the fuel tanks. Going to leave them as they are without the angled bottom and the groove. I do have a set of the MDC tanks withe the angled bottom and grooves but I think I will save them for a fighter build. I'm not convinced that all the 110's had them anyway. I did fill in the first groove and cut off the rear tip like the Herdon G-4. I glued .3mm styrene rod in the grooves to represent the weld bead. will need to add the fuel lines and may do something with the fuel cap, the two bumps on the cap aren't right. Another shot of the tank. Hope that was clear as mud. All the parts that I made for the Revell kit will be used in this kit. I going into the pit next..... Comments or questions welcomed.... Dan
  8. Geez thanks Brian. I hope that folks may find something interesting through my threads and may learn something, like I'm slower than a sloth! But I do believe a lot of the fire in the building of the G-4 conversion was started by Russ (Ruzlkampf) he did it with so much passion and fun! Funny, I was just upstairs on the smart TV rereading his thread on the G-4 a gent just brought it up on the group build threads. I went through his build threads numerous times! There's a lot of folks that helped move the conversion forward. We learn from each other, that's what this is all about.... Dan
  9. Great update Nick, really looking the part. I used .3mm styrene rod from Plastruct for the weld beads on the tanks. I hope to get some pic's up after work tonight or tomorrow. Dan
  10. Thanks Ian, Don't know if I'll use any of Johns conversion, I might he is doing a excellent job with it! The Revell kit requires a lot of work, it can be done, I just need to move on that's why I'm going to use the Cyber Hobby kit from here out. Dan
  11. Glad to see you back on this Alain! Nice work on the slats. Dan
  12. I like it Kev. I'm sure you will pick it to death and I'm sure you are not done with the weathering. Once you get the legs on her and the engine in and the exhaust staining on her you will like it more. My only thought is to maybe knock down the white on the decals with a little dust. Dan
  13. That's a darn good looking bird right there, well done! Dan
  14. Hey Patrick, Aren't the fuselage split? Right and left side, that's what I understand and that's the way they show it in the Vasco/Estanislau 110 book. I don't think they are donuts. If you enlarge Martens picture above you can see that at least one of the former's is an individual piece and the braces riveted on top and bottom of each one. I may be wrong...... Sorry to hijack your thread a bit John..... Dan
  15. Great work on the riveting, please don't think I was saying that your riveting was off. My brain was not thinking of the overlapped skin on the Fuse. Dan
  16. Thanks Martin! I sure didn't have my thinking cap on when I made that comment!
  17. Great update John, you make that riveting look easy. I will have to put in an order with RB. Just a thought, the rivets on the fuse, there are rivets on one side of the seam but not on the other? Doesn't look right, I can see your plans are the same way. I just checked my Trumpy E-7 kit and they have them the same way. I would think there would be a line of rivets on each side of the seam? Is the bronze gear easy to remove the seam line? I'm with you on the brake line. Really enjoying this build..... Dan
  18. Excellent builds, all three are beauty's! Dan
