  1. I was at the museum at Warner-Robins about twenty years back. Gen Scott had a office there. I tried to meet him but they said he plays golf every Friday. Rats... never got back there to meet him. He did carry the Olympic torch in '96 and I think I saw him run by.
  2. gorgeous work and equally clear photographs!
  3. Nice model! It took me a while to get used to the Flickr interface but I like it now. Yes, I recommend too that when you share, use the "BB Code" choice (bulletin board). This being for individual photo. You can manually get rid of the extra stuff at the tail end of the link that shows your name and flickr link. I also like that you can choose the size. Folks can click on the photo and be taken to Flickr and then see everything close up if the want to.
  4. Here are a couple of observations about this kit: The metal plate/artwork is was situated on top of the sprues. It is a bit heavy and I recommend keeping it off the sprues and out of the box just to avoid any bending or possible cracking of clear parts. Also, the decal sheet is very long, the longest I've ever seen. The "wax paper" had been folded during shipping and I set it back (of course after ogling the sheet for a while!) Enjoy. With all the interesting extras, this is a must for Warhawk fans, like myself.
  5. I got one in today. Sprue brothers. I know it's pricey but I'm a sucker when it comes to Warhawk kits. Nice kit!
  6. Great looking Oscar and thanks for sharing the project photos.
  7. The P-40N did attempt to use lighter 27" wheels but they were weak and they had trouble with them. A lot of groups retrofit the older but tougher 30" wheels.
  8. That last shot of the P-40 nosed over in the mud is a P-40D, quite rare. You can tell because the top scoop on the nose is set back a few inches which was changed on P-40E onward.
  9. Gorgeous! How did you shade the leather areas? Airbrush?
  10. It's hard to top Geoff but I must say the Spit looks fantastic all together. Can't wait to see it done!
  11. I found a low cost alternative to Aves Apoxie. It is at DIY stores. It works just like Apoxie but is less dense. It may need a primer coat as it is coarse compared to Apoxie. Now, I should quit farting around and get back to work on my model but here is an experiment with using real foil for NMF. What do you think?
  12. Yes, it won't be used that often but I plan on keeping mine until they send me to the old folks home (hopefully several decades)!
  13. If kit can do an "M" then one could easily do a long tail "K".
  14. Holy Toledo that is a beauty!
  15. A google search found this! http://www.largescaleplanes.com/reviews/review.php?rid=351
  16. I'd like to share with you a new tool I have from CB Model Products. At first I thought a wheel sanding tool was frivolous but have you ever been frustrated trying to sand a flat spot just right? The tool can handle angled wheel situations like a Bf-109 or Spitfire. Rubber O-rings are provided if you wheel has protrusions and my True Details wheels did. You attach them with white glue. In short order, you get perfectly prepared resin or styrene wheels.
  17. Looks awesome and the weathering is very realistic on the engine.
  18. Patience paid off and you got a nice canopy to go with all your metal work! p.s. I hear that Pledge/Future can also be used as a decal setter but I've never tried it.
